Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are still over the moon about their engagement.
Last Tuesday, Swift revealed that she and her longtime partner, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, are engaged. The “Cruel Summer” singer shared the news on Instagram with a series of four photos from the proposal, a post that has already garnered more than 36 million likes.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” she wrote as her caption.
Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, revealed that the NFL star proposed to Swift after taping an episode of his New Heights podcast. On August 13, Swift appeared as a guest on the podcast to announce and discuss her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, making it a milestone moment for both her career and personal life. According to Kelce’s father, the engagement took place soon after the recording wrapped in the backyard of their home in Missouri.

On Wednesday’s new episode of New Heights, which Travis Kelce also co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, the 35-year-old tight end broke his silence about the engagement, speaking about it publicly for the first time.
At the beginning of the episode, Jason Kelce asked his brother how the last week had been, in regard to the proposal.
“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that has been going on,” the tight end responded. “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”
Jason Kelce also reflected on the difference between introducing someone as a girlfriend versus as a fiancée or wife, noting that the latter feels far more official.
“I felt that at the game actually,” Travis Kelce said, possibly referring to their last preseason game against the Chicago Bears on August 22. “It was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates…I still get giddy. I love it. It’s exciting times.”
The rest of the podcast, the Kelce brothers gave their advice on proposals and popping the big question, then talked about the Chiefs’ upcoming trip to Brazil. Later on, former Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith came on the podcast to talk about his predictions and thoughts for the upcoming NFL season.
The Grammy-winning singer and the NFL star began dating in 2022 and have been a cultural phenomenon ever since. While keeping much of their relationship private, they’ve been spotted together on numerous occasions, with Kelce attending Swift’s Eras Tour shows last year, and Swift cheering him on at Chiefs games. This past summer, the couple was frequently seen on dates and outings across the country.
New episodes of New Heights release every Wednesday and can be streamed on Spotify, YouTube, Wondery and Apple Podcasts. Meanwhile, Swift’s upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, will be out on Oct 3.
