“Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)” Set for a Broadway Bake Off This Fall – front mezz junkies, Theater News

Frontmezzjunkies reports: Two Strangers Are Coming to Broadway

I’ve heard so many incredible things about this show, and now I’ll finally get my turn to see it rise up live on Broadway. After successful baking to perfection in London and receiving a rapturous reception at ART this summer, Two Strangers (or Carry a Cake Across New York) is coming to the Big Apple, and I am eagerly awaiting taking a slice of this cake. Starting previews at the Longacre Theatre on November 1, with a full, flavorful opening set for November 20, I’ll be front and center for what promises to be one of the most fun, original, and delicious productions of the season.

After a record-breaking 10-week run in London and rave reviews, Two Strangers is finally ready to serve up its magic on Broadway, promising to delight and dazzle. With stunning scenic and costume designs by Soutra Gilmour (West End/Broadway’s Betrayal), brilliant lighting by Jack Knowles (West End’s Best of Enemies), and a talented behind-the-scenes team—including a crisp sound design by Tony Gayle (Donmar’s Next to Normal) and a rich music supervision by Nick Finlow, I’ve no doubt this show will be a layered, luscious feast from start to finish.

Having already wowed audiences in Boston and London’s West End, this musical, crafted with care by writers Jim Barne and Kit Buchan (Catastrophe Bay), and directed and choreographed by the talented Tim Jackson (NYTW/Broadway’s Merrily We Roll Along), is shaping up to be a show-stopping experience. And with Sam Tutty and Christiani Pitts reprising their roles from the earlier ART staging, I can’t wait to see their chemistry bake in real time. Plus, a Spotify “Fans First” presale for the cast album has already dropped—so jump on this cake train and secure your place at this sweet, unmissable event.
