When Krispy Kreme unveiled its latest seasonal doughnut offerings earlier this month, many of the bakery company’s fans seemed surprised and intrigued by one unexpected flavor that was made available for a limited time in locations across the U.S.
In an Instagram post on Nov. 7, Krispy Kreme introduced Thanksgiving Pies, a new doughnut collection that featured four fall-themed flavors: Chocolate Silk Pie, Lemon Creme Pie, Blueberry Crisp and Apple Crumble.

While some fans voiced an early interest in testing out all four—“They all look so good!!! 😋😋🍩🍩,” one Instagram user wrote—others singled out Lemon Creme Pie as the doughnut flavor they found most intriguing. According to an item description on Krispy Kreme’s website, the lemon-flavored treat was comprised of an “unglazed doughnut filled with lemon pie filling, dipped in lemon yellow icing and graham crunch, topped with a meringue buttercreme dollop.”

“Ouff the lemon one looks fire🤤,” one Instagram user wrote as another agreed with the flavor pick, writing, “definitely lemon crème, it looks delicious 😋🍋.”
“I am so very excited for this!!!!” one fan wrote.
“They are delicious!! 😋,” shared a customer who said they tested the Chocolate Silk Pie, Lemon Creme Pie and Blueberry Crisp doughnuts.
One commenter wrote that they “needed the lemon one in the 6 ct 😩.” Another Krispy Kreme fan who wrote in on a different doughnut-themed Instagram post by food blogger Snackolator shared, “The lemon pie donut right now is awesome I ate 9.”
Though many wrote in to support the lemon-flavored doughnut, others questioned Krispy Kreme’s decision to spotlight fruit in the fall. “Weak drop. 3 fruit flavors is not it,” one Instagram user wrote.
“I love y’all and all BUT LEMON?!! OVER PUMPKIN IS DIABOLICAL 😭 y’all villains fr,” another Instagram user commented.
The Thanksgiving Pies doughnuts are expected to be available at participating Krispy Kreme locations through Thursday, Nov. 28.
