Unicorn Academy Renewed at Netflix With New Spin-off Continuation Series: 'Secrets Revealed'

The hit animated kids series Unicorn Academy is saddling up for its next major installment. First revealed by Parents.com, the next entry, titled Secrets Revealed: Chapter 1, promises a glamorous new rival for the dorms and is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on March 19th, 2026.

Since its debut in late 2023, the Spin Master-produced adaptation with Mainframe Studios has aired two full seasons in 2023 and 2024 and two seasonal special episode chapters, released in April and November 2025. The series follows Sophia and her classmates at the magical boarding school on Unicorn Island as they bond with their unicorns and protect the island’s magic.

According to Netflix’s Engagement Reports, the series has tallied 321.7M viewing hours since its debut, equating to roughly 79.5M views.

Now, we have confirmation that the adventure continues next month with a brand new chapter, with even more episodes expected beyond this release.

It is worth noting that this installment sits separately from the main show on the Netflix interface, meaning you may need to add it to your list separately from the original series. The naming convention is a little confusing, with some likely referring to this as season 5. Episode count is TBD.

What to expect from the new season?

The stakes have never been higher for the riders. According to the new synopsis, the island is facing its darkest trial yet with the return of the villainous Ravenzella, the Queen of Grimoria.

Sophia and the Sapphires—the core group of riders—must figure out how to defeat her permanently. The key lies in an ancient legend regarding the Fairy Tiara, a relic that once belonged to the very first Unicorn Rider. The Tiara, however, is shattered, and its power depends on six missing fairy gemstones.

The new season will see Sophia and her unicorn, Wildstar, stumble upon one of these long-lost stones, kickstarting a race across the island. The group must locate all remaining stones to restore the Tiara’s magic. Doing so will not only stop Ravenzella but also unlock powerful new “gemstone tack” for their unicorns.

New Characters: Meet Serena Furi

It isn’t just ancient villains causing trouble this season; there is drama brewing inside the dorms as well.

The new chapter introduces a major new character: Serena Furi. Described as a “glamorous pop icon” with mysterious ties to the Academy, Serena arrives as a new “frenemy” for the group. Her presence is set to cause significant friction among the Sapphires, testing the bonds of their friendship right when they need to be united the most.
