Vancouver’s ‘original makers market’ is back for two days this April with over 60 vendors

30 March 20262 Mins Read

Portobello West is turning 20 this year, and its annual spring market takes place across two days this April. For those who don’t know, the iconic market is a great way to support local and check out nearly 70 unique vendors at its flagship location at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre.

The highly anticipated event brings together handcrafted jewelry, skincare, art pieces, home decor, locally brewed beverages, and much more, allowing shoppers to peruse at their leisure and connect with artists in their community.

Vancouver’s original makers market

Considered Vancouver’s “original makers market,” Portobello West was created in 2006 by Carlie Smith, who was inspired by the famous art and design markets of Europe. Today, it operates as a not-for-profit society, hosting pop-up markets at various locations in Vancouver throughout the year. Its goal is to introduce Vancouver shoppers to the amazing pool of local artists and designers right here in the city.

The two-day event will also feature live music, a raffle booth, and face painting and balloon twisting for all ages, not just the kids!

How much are tickets?

The market will take place rain or shine, and tickets are priced at $6.99 per adult, with free admission for children aged 12 and under.

If you’re one of the first 100 people to purchase an advance ticket, you’ll be entered to win a $50 shopping spree!

If you’re looking to pick up a birthday gift for a loved one or purchase something new for your home, this is a great place to start.

Mark your calendars.

When: Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 181 Roundhouse Mews
Cost: $6.99
