The Walt Disney Company and Miral have announced plans for a new Disney theme park resort on Yas Island, a premier destination for entertainment and leisure. It will be the seventh Disney theme park resort.
Yas Island, situated in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is a hub for travelers from the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, Europe, and beyond, making the planned resort a potential global attraction. The resort will further extend Disney’s global reach and exemplify Abu Dhabi’s commitment to sustainable growth, with travel and tourism being key pillars for future expansion.
The resort will be designed and built entirely by Miral, with Disney’s legendary Imagineers leading creative design and operational oversight to ensure a top-tier experience. Miral, having previously collaborated with American and European brands to develop family entertainment destinations on Yas Island, will operate the resort.
The United Arab Emirates is a significant gateway for tourism, with its location within a four-hour flight of one-third of the world’s population. The UAE is also home to the largest global airline hub, with 120 million passengers traveling through Abu Dhabi and Dubai annually.
Upon completion, the new theme park resort will offer Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, unique dining and retail experiences, and storytelling that celebrates Disney’s heritage and Abu Dhabi’s futuristic and cultural essence. More details about the project will be disclosed as it progresses.
The new Disney theme park resort is expected to support sustained economic growth in Abu Dhabi and beyond by attracting more families to experience Disney in a part of the world where its presence is still relatively new.
