The Wellness Tourism Association (WTA) has announced its relaunch as a for-profit entity, now under the ownership and leadership of Robin Ruiz, who also serves as the President and CEO. Previously established in 2018 as a nonprofit organization, the WTA has played a significant role in the wellness tourism sector.
The transition to a for-profit model comes with a strategic focus on uniting industry leaders and fostering connections within the wellness tourism community. The WTA plans to expand member benefits and introduce new educational offerings and industry initiatives. The organization aims to enhance its role as a hub for advocacy, education, collaboration, and events.
Robin Ruiz, who is also the Founder and CEO of Wellness in Travel & Tourism (WITT), has taken on the leadership role at the WTA. The relaunch under Ruiz’s leadership is intended to build on the WTA’s existing foundation and introduce it as a platform for new voices and ideas in the wellness tourism industry.
Anne Dimon, Co-Founder and Founding President/CEO of the WTA, will remain involved as an advisor during the transition and will serve on the forthcoming WTA Advisory Board. The organization continues to focus on supporting well-being through travel by setting benchmarks, fostering collaboration, and providing education and resources for professionals in the field.
