It’s time to party, Toronto! The 2026 Toronto Caribbean Carnival, popularly known as Caribana, comes to town this week, so here’s your chance to carouse your way through streets and venues across the city as the four-day festival officially takes over.
There’s always so much to do during this time of year, and of course, Caribana is simply upping the ante in 2026.
From boat parties and patio jams to the official Grand Parade that brings vibrant Caribbean culture to the streets, here’s your complete guide to everything happening during Toronto Caribbean Carnival.
Parade
Everyone knows that the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s Grand Parade is one of the most anticipated events in the city each summer. The annual spectacle sees elaborate costumes and thousands of masqueraders take over Lakeshore Boulevard West for a day-long procession, and this year will be no different.
The parade is set to take place Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with Marilyn Bell Park, Exhibition Place, Inukshuk Park, and Lakeshore Boulevard West (between Strachan Avenue and Dowling Avenue) serving as the official stomping grounds.
Although the general parade is free to attend, those wanting to experience the festivities at Exhibition Place must purchase a ticket to enter the grounds. Tickets range from $45 to $210, depending on the experience you choose, and are available to purchase online.
Staple events
While the Grand Parade may be the crown jewel of Toronto’s carnival season, it’s not the only event worth adding to your itinerary.
The King and Queen Showcase officially marks the start of Toronto Caribbean Carnival each year, and this year it comes back to carry the torch.
Keeping with tradition, the showcase will take place on July 30 at Allan A. Lamport Stadium, where masqueraders will take to the stage to present their Mas Band creations before a panel of judges.
After that, guests can head to another annual tradition: Carnival Nights, the ultimate kick-off party at DPRTMNT to officially ring in Caribana. Tickets are $40 plus applicable taxes, and guests can purchase them directly online.
Parties
Speaking of parties, there’s no shortage of shindigs happening across Toronto during Caribana weekend.
For starters, kick-off parties will take over venues throughout the city, with party-goers dancing the night away to the sounds that define Caribbean culture. Check out Carnival After Dark for soca and dancehall music playing into the wee hours. Tickets start at just $25.57, with no VIP experiences hosted by the venue this year.
Rooftops will transform into dance floors this week, too, with hotspots like Ace Hotel hosting a free ISLAND SOUNDS party on July 31. Although this is not a ticketed event, entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and patrons are encouraged to come early to ensure access to all the vibes.
If your plan is to fete until sunrise — rooftop or not — then make your way to The Pearl for its Soca Spotlight party, featuring entertainment, food, and music on Aug. 1 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tickets are a flat $50 to get in.
And, of course, a Caribana classic is making its return, too. The Toronto Caribana Boat Party will set sail on Aug. 1 aboard Jubilee Queen Cruises, and this year’s throwback theme will feature fan-favourite hits from the early 2000s, with tickets for the event starting at $38.61.
Food and drink
It’s safe to say Toronto Caribbean Carnival is a celebration of both music and food. So naturally, carnivalgoers will want to indulge in some incredible Caribbean cuisine while they’re out dancing the night away.
If that’s on your agenda, add a visit to Island Soul to your Caribana to-do list. Alongside festival-themed activations, the Harbourfront event will feature local vendors serving Caribbean dishes inspired by islands across the region.
