28 July 20252 Mins Read

It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating Canada Day and looking forward to July. Now that we’re nearing its end, it feels almost bittersweet considering we only have a few more weeks left of summer. But we won’t let that damper on our upcoming plans. We’re ready for you, August, and to make the last full month of summer even better, we’re up for a long weekend. Monday, Aug. 4, 2025, is a Civic Holiday, which means some businesses across Toronto will be closed. Here’s what’s open and closed on the Civic Holiday in Toronto.

By the looks of it, only a few places will be closed for the day, and others will have early closures. However, there are still a ton of fun things to do in the city on Monday if you’re in search of an adventure.

Here’s what’s open and closed in Toronto this Civic Holiday:

Closed

  • Toronto Public Library branches (Aug. 3 and 4)
  • Mail delivery services
  • Government services
