'Wheel of Fortune' Fans Slam the Beloved Game Show After Shocking Loss

7 May 20252 Mins Read

After seven Wheel of Fortune episodes in a row featuring contestants losing the Bonus Round, fans are getting fed up.

On Tuesday, May 6, a first responder and volunteer EMT named Alex Puglisi advanced to the Bonus Round after winning $23,469.

As her parents supported her from the sidelines, Puglisi picked “Phrase” for her final puzzle. After she was given the letters “R,S,T,L,N, and E,” she picked “C,D,P, and O” — but her choices unfortunately didn’t help much.

“On the end zone,” she guessed, adding, “On the ride…out. On the…”

Finally, Puglisi was forced to give up.

“You got the top part of it,” Ryan Seacrest said before giving her the answer: “On the jukebox.”

Since Puglisi didn’t guess the correct phrase, she missed out on adding another $50,000 to her winnings — and fans on YouTube didn’t think that was fair at all.

“That puzzle made no sense,” declared one person, with another calling it “near impossible.”

“I’ve never heard of ‘On The Jukebox’ in my life, and I’m a sucker of 1970’s and 1980’s memorabilia,” admitted someone else.

Other WoF viewers vented their frustrations with the ongoing Bonus Round losing streak.

“I WISH THE BONUS ROUND LOSSES WOULD STOP RIGHT NOW!!!” somebody complained.

“OH COME ON!! What’s it gonna take for someone to win the bonus round already?! Also… WHO EVEN SAYS THAT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD?!” added another commenter.

Yet another exasperated internet user pointed out that the “Phrase” category has been unpopular for quite some time, writing, “That’s not good. This has got to stop. 7 bonus round loss in a row. And Phrase bonus category, peace out. Get outta here. We’ve disliked it since 2017 because of $100,000 loss.”
