When do you get a house in Crimson Desert

A house in Crimson Desert will give you a permanent place to rest. Whenever you need some respite from tough battles or demanding citizens, you can come here to pass the time, place decorations, sharpen your weapon, and visit the nearby Greymane Camp. Don’t expect to become a Hernandian real estate owner right away, though; it’ll take a while to earn your home.

Here’s when and how to unlock your Crimson Desert house.

How to unlock a house in Crimson Desert

You will unlock your Crimson Desert house in Chapter 3, “Howling Hill,” once you’ve completed the quest called “A Fresh Start.” This follows the “First Step to Rebuilding” quest, which unlocks the Greymane Camp on Howling Hill.

In short, speaking with Marquis Serkis at the start of Chapter 3 unlocks the Howling Hill campground. Once the soldier on horseback has taken you there, and you’ve had a word with Barden Middler, you must complete every building objective in “A Fresh Start,” such as “push the wagon” and “raise the banner,” to unlock your personal home within that camp. Once that’s done, open your map to find the location of your house, a cottage just southeast of the main camp.

From now on, you can visit your Crimson Desert house whenever you like. Besides a wardrobe and a bed, the house is mostly empty, but if you’ve picked up some furniture on your travels (marked with a house icon in your inventory), feel free to place it. Alternatively, you can visit the furniture store at the Timberham Sawmill (southwest of Hernand) to buy new furniture. If you’d like to sharpen your weapons, the grindstone is just southeast of your home, on the same cliff.
