The last episode of Season 23 of NCISaired on Tuesday, Dec. 16 before the CBS drama took a winter hiatus that will last until the series returns with new episodes on Tuesday, March 3. It was originally scheduled to return on Tuesday, Feb. 24. But as that is now the night of the State of the Union address, the series would have been preempted by the president, so it had to be moved.
The last episode of 2025 left us with a big cliffhanger: We saw Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) given her first NCIS: Elite mission and it looked as if it was to track down and eliminate Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop (Emily Wickersham). At the same time, we saw Ellie sitting in an automobile at the funeral of Alden Parker’s (Gary Cole) mother watching her former team but we had no clue why Ellie was in trouble. In the “Her” episode, as her first NCIS: Elite mission, Jessica Knight is given orders to hunt down and arrest Eleanor Bishop after the former member of the NCIS team is designated a wanted cyber-terrorist. In need of someone to trust, Bishop turns to Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), and the two – who had some romantic leanings — come face to face for the first time since she abruptly left nearly five years ago.

Where can I watch NCIS ?
The easiest way to watch previous episodes of NCIS during its CBS hiatus is to stream the series on Paramount+, which has all the seasons to date. But there are also episodes on Netflix and Hulu, just not the show in its entirety.

What happened in the NCIS midseason finale?

The last episode was “Heaven and Nature” on Dec. 16 in which McGee (Sean Murray) and Torres tried to recover a stolen truck filled with toys for the Navy’s annual Christmas drive while the truth about Parker’s mother was finally revealed. Also, Knight was given her first NCIS: Elite mission, which involves tracking down a former member of the team, and that’s when we first learned that Ellie Bishop would be returning to NCIS.
NCIS will return with new episodes on Tuesday, March 3 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
