If you’ve been swept up in the time-traveling, multigenerational drama of the Landry women, you’re certainly not alone. Since The Way Home made its splashy debut on Netflix, it has become one of the most-binged comfort watches on the platform, picking up over 5.5 million views globally in the second half of 2025 alone, despite being available in only one country. That’s in addition to the 16 days it spent in the daily US top 10s.
Starring Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow, and Evan Williams, the beloved Hallmark Channel series has officially been renewed for a fourth season. However, with the bittersweet news that Season 4 will be the show’s final outing, fans are already clamoring to know when they can see the Landry family’s story come to a close on Netflix.
Here is everything we know about The Way Home Season 4, its current streaming rights, and when you can expect the final episodes to drop on Netflix (if at all!)
What to Expect from The Way Home Season 4
Before we get to the Netflix release, let’s talk about the upcoming farewell season.
Season 4 is officially set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday, April 19, 2026. As always, episodes will stream the next day on Hallmark+.
According to the official synopsis, the final season will take us deep into the past as Kat heads to 1925 to solve a lingering riddle. Meanwhile, in the present, Alice is getting ready to graduate high school, Kat and Elliot are figuring out the future of their romance, and Del is preparing to be an empty-nester all over again. We’ll also be seeing some new faces in Port Haven, including Bianca Melchior as young Fern Landry and Dan Jeannotte as Temperance Inspector Cliff Kane.
There’s also been a lot of online chatter that the final season was cut short before production concluded, though we haven’t been able to verify it.

How The Way Home Found Its Way to Netflix
Hallmark programming hasn’t always been a staple on Netflix, but that all changed recently, thanks to a massive licensing shift.
As we first covered back in September 2025, Netflix has licensed the series for October 2025, with the first two seasons dropping together on October 1st. It came as part of a broader deal with Hallmark that’s since seen some of their movies land on the platform in the US and internationally. Season 3 was then licensed, in the United States, on February 1st.
To date, only Netflix in the United States has picked up the time-traveling show.
When will The Way Home Season 4 be on Netflix in the US?
Currently, Netflix US holds the rights to the first three seasons. So, when will the fourth and final season jump into the streaming pond?
While Netflix hasn’t announced a concrete release date for Season 4 just yet, we can easily predict its arrival based on the show’s established release pattern.
Season 3 wrapped its run on the Hallmark Channel in March 2025 and didn’t arrive on Netflix until February 2026. Because Hallmark+ retains the exclusive next-day streaming rights while the show is airing on linear television, Netflix users always have to wait out an exclusivity window.
With Season 4 premiering on Hallmark in April 2026, we currently expect Season 4 of The Way Home to arrive on Netflix US in late 2026 or early 2027, if at all. We can confirm that Netflix currently has the rights to the show through at least October 2027, which means it’s possible we could see it licensed during that period or as we’ve seen with a few shows, the new season just never gets added, after all, Hallmark Channel was mostly using Netflix as a way to boost the profile of the show and encourage people to jump to Hallmark+.
We did contact two Hallmark Channel representatives for this article, but they did not respond.
