Where to find all Microchips in Blue Prince

18 April 20254 Mins Read

Microchips are items in Blue Prince that you probably won’t even know you need. They’re not involved in reaching Room 46, but they are part of the game’s larger, post-credits mystery and story.

You’ll learn about the Microchips once you reach the Blackbridge Grotto — one of the game’s Permanent Additions. There are three of them, and once you find all three, you’ll be able to complete this puzzle.

Our Blue Prince guide will show you where to find all Microchips and how to use them.

[Ed. note: This guide contains spoilers for Blue Prince.]

How to reach Blackbridge Grotto in Blue Prince

One of Blue Prince’s permanent additions, Blackbridge Grotto, is unlocked by solving the Laboratory puzzles. You’ll have to draft both the Laboratory and the Boiler Room and then route power to the Laboratory. You’ll also have to solve the periodic table puzzle to find the solution to the machinery in the corner, which our guide on Laboratory puzzles can help you complete.

Where to find the first Microchip in Blue Prince

Once you’ve unlocked Blackbridge Grotto unlocked, you’ll be able to find the first Microchip.

Head out the front door onto the Grounds. Take a left like you’re heading toward the Campsite or the Apple Orchard. On the way, you’ll pass a newly opened door on your left. That’s the entrance to Blackbridge Grotto.

Inside, you’ll find a pedestal with three overlapping circles carved into the top. In the smallest, you’ll find the first Microchip. If you pick it up, just put it back — that’s where it belongs.

Microchip #2 and #3 clues in Blue Prince

Finding the other two Microchips means finding some clues. And what better place to look than in a book titled “A New Clue.”

To purchase it, you’ll need to draft a Bookstore. Do that and you can pick it up for 50 coins. When you draft a Library, you can check it out, and then read it the next time you draft the Library.

There’s a lot going on in “A New Clue.” We’re looking for two things in particular, though. The first is the illustration on page 15 (if you start counting from the title page). The illustration is of the protagonist sitting on a grid that looks an awful lot like the Mount Holly. There’s a vase and sledgehammer with him in the square that corresponds to the Entrance Hall.

The second clue is more elaborate. On page 6 (starting from the title page), there are some barely noticeable numbers after some of the words. Look for those numbers and take the words in order from 1 to 12 for the first part of the clue. It reads, “All checked corner case rooms had a low case clue found in the rooms.”

Back on page 5, there’s a list labeled “Corner Cases,” indicating six rooms. And four of those cases (rooms) have a checkmark.

In those rooms, there are notes. Each note has one word in low(er) case, like the clue said. If you check each of them, you’ll find the last part of the clue: “Buried beside west bridge.”

Below, we’ll show you where to find the second and third Microchips.

Where to find the second Microchip in Blue Prince

With the clue from “A New Clue,” all you have to do to find the second Microchip is take a Sledgehammer to the Entrance Hall. On the south side of the room, there’s a pair of vases. When you walk up to them, you’ll get a smash icon. One of them will have the second Microchip inside.

Where to find the third Microchip in Blue Prince

Based on the clue(s) in “A New Clue,” the final Microchip is buried beside (the) west bridge. That’s referring to that small bridge you cross on the way to the Outer Room along the West Path that you unlock via the Garage.

The first thing you’ll need is a Shovel. Then, as you’re heading toward the Outer Room, step off the path to the right (north). A dig icon will pop up. That’s where you’ll find the third Microchip.

Microchips solution and reward in Blue Prince

As you find the Microchips, return them to Blackbridge Grotto. Once you place all three, you’ll get a flashy cutscene and a new door will open at the back of the server room.

Follow the stairs through the Orindian Ruins. At the far end, you’ll find the blueprint for the Throne Room.
