Is four-time Super Bowl champion Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski the opposite of a good-luck charm for NFL teams now that he’s retired from professional football?
Some fans think that may be the case after the tight end incorrectly called the Super Bowl for the losing team two years in a row.

The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers player appeared on The Tonight Show on Jan. 29, where host Jimmy Fallon asked him who he thinks will win Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.
But before the professional athlete gave his response, Fallon threw it back to two of Gronk’s previous appearances on the late night show, where he confidently (and incorrectly) predicted that the Philadelphia Eagles would win the 2023 Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs, and that the San Francisco 49ers would win the 2024 Super Bowl, again against the Chiefs.

As Kansas City gears up for a possible record-breaking three-peat Super Bowl win, Gronk took a moment to assess the situation before confidently stating, “I will not go against the Chiefs for a third time in a row.”
He then predicted that Kansas City would win in a close game over the Eagles, with a final score of 30 to 26. “For all you Philly fans out there… you should be happy about that pick, because obviously I’m wrong every single year,” he declared to the audience.
The Tonight Show shared the clip on Instagram, and fans were quick to jump into the comments to give their takes.
“Perfect so the eagles will win 😂,” said one commenter, and another agreed, writing, “Let’s go Gronk, that’s what it talking about! Fly eagles fly.”
“I’m betting on the Eagles now,” wrote a fan. “He just put the kiss of death on the chiefs. Thanks, gronk,” said another. “Bro reverse jinxed the Chiefs 😂,” wrote a third.
Some fans pointed out that, despite his declaration that Kansas City will win the big game this year, Gronk wore a green suit and white shirt to the interview, which they interpreted to be a nod to the Eagles’ colors.
