Airlines and marathons? Sure, those two things don’t typically go hand in hand, but why shouldn’t they – especially now that low-cost airline WizzAir has launched a running-based competition with some mega prizes up for grabs.
The WIZZ Run Series 2025 is offering amateur runners across the continent the chance to snag one of their recently-launched ‘All You Can Fly’ passes. It has sponsored nine different marathons across Europe, and the more that runners participate in, the better their chances are of winning.
The following marathons are included:
- April 6, Wizz Air Milano Marathon, Italy
- April 6, Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon, Romania
- May 18, Wizz Air Hackney Half Marathon, UK
- September 6, Wizz Air Warsaw Praski Night Half Marathon, Poland
- September 7, Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon, Hungary
- October 5, Wizz Air Skopje Marathon, North Macedonia
- October 12, Wizz Air Sofia Marathon, Bulgaria
- October 19, Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon, Italy
- October 29, Wizz Air Venice Marathon, Italy
Recommended: Ryanair has launched a new £79 ‘Prime’ subscription service.
So, how does this competition work? Well, for each kilometre run, the participant gains one point, and the runners with the highest totals at the end will win one of four AYCF passes. The second-place winner will receive a €1,000 Wizz Air voucher, and the third-place winner an €800 voucher.
To enter, you need to be over 18 and an amateur runner, and winners will be announced in December 2025. All the details can be found here.
