Minor Hotels recently expanded its portfolio with two new properties and introduced the NH Collection Hotels & Resorts brand in Sri Lanka. To oversee these significant developments, Yann Decaix and Wim Fagel have been appointed as General Managers of NH Collection Colombo Hotel and NH Bentota Ceysands Resort respectively.
Yann Decaix brings over 15 years of hospitality experience to his new role at NH Collection Colombo Hotel. His responsibilities include transforming the 219-key property into an NH Collection hotel and ensuring a seamless brand launch. Wim Fagel, now at the helm of the 166-key NH Bentota Ceysands Resort, has been with the resort since July 2022. He leads the rebranding and refurbishment efforts at the resort. Fagel’s nearly four decades of international expertise in opening, restructuring, expanding, and renovating luxury properties across Asia and Europe make him a valuable asset for the company. His previous experience includes leadership roles at Centara Hotels & Resorts in Asia. Fagel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Middelbare Hotelschool ‘de Kogge’, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Puneet Dhawan, Head of Asia at Minor Hotels, expressed confidence in the new appointments. He said, “Their extensive experience will be invaluable as we introduce the NH Collection and NH Hotels brands to this vibrant market. We are confident that under their leadership, the two properties will not only enhance our presence in Sri Lanka but also contribute significantly to the anticipated full rebound in tourism numbers post-pandemic.”
Minor Hotels’ strategic leadership appointments are expected to strengthen their position in the Sri Lankan market and foster growth in the post-pandemic tourism rebound.
