The sun is out, and it won’t be long until you’re reaching for flip-flops and sunscreen. From Edmonton to Calgary, Wild Rose Country is about to be booked and busy with bustling tourists hoping to get a tan, and Banff is going to be quite the hotspot.
Not sure what to do while you’re there? In addition to going hiking and grabbing lunch in town, there are a ton of unique experiences, like taking a glass-bottom boat onto Abraham Lake, a beloved Alberta destination.

As of May 9, those interested in exploring the bright blue waters of Canada’s first national park can do so in the most photogenic way.
Marlin Outdoors is a Calgary-based company with single-person kayaks, tandem boats, and clear canoes that will let you get a 360° view of the scenic pool.
Interested? These particular vessels can be picked up at David Thompson Resort for $80 an hour.
Bookings must be done in advance, and pick up as the temperature climbs, so consider planning ahead.
Life jackets and paddles are included, but it’ll be up to you to bring snacks, good company, and a sense of adventure.
It’s going to be a long, hot summer, Alberta — but time flies when you’re having fun.
