You can pick pumpkins and tackle a 10-acre corn maze at this Calgary farm

20 August 20265 Mins Read

Fall Days are returning to the Calgary Farmyard, which means pumpkin season is officially on the way. This year, you can make your way through a 10-acre corn maze, pick out a pumpkin to take home, and, on select evenings, see the farmyard lit up with thousands of colourful lights during Harvest Lights.

So, what should you know before you make your way to the farmyard? Let’s take a look.

What to expect at Fall Days

What can you do at Fall Days?

There’s a lot to explore around the farmyard during Fall Days, and the 10-acre corn maze is probably one of the first places you’ll want to make a stop at. According to the Calgary Farmyard, it’s described as Southern Alberta’s largest corn maze, and it’s a pretty sizable puzzle to work your way through, so you’ll want to give yourself some time to get through it.

Once you’ve made your way through the corn maze, you can head over to the Tractor Ride or hop aboard the Rideable Train, then take some time to meet the animals around the farm. You’ll find Highland cows, sheep, pigs, bunnies, chicks, and more.

And it wouldn’t be the perfect autumn day without the opportunity to pick out your own pumpkin. For an extra cost, you can choose a pumpkin to take home with you, giving you a little something to bring back from your day at the farmyard.

If you’re not quite ready to call it a day after that, well, you’re in luck. There are over 20 other attractions to check out, including the Speeder Karts, the Tower Tube Slide and the Ropes Course.

Is the Calgary Farmyard suitable for the whole family?

Yes, the farm has activities for all ages, so it works perfectly as a family outing. Younger kids can enjoy the animals and seasonal activities, while older kids and adults can take on things like the corn maze and zip line.

What should I wear when I go?

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes, since you’ll be outside all day. Running shoes or other sturdy footwear are recommended for the uneven surfaces and activities. It’s also a good idea to bring sunscreen and a hat on sunny days. And, it’s probably best to leave your nice clothes at home since things can get a little dirty at the farm!

Is there food available there?

Yes, there will be plenty of food and drink options available for purchase, so you don’t need to leave when you get hungry. You can grab things like chicken tenders, hamburgers, and fries, or go for something sweet like mini donuts or soft serve ice cream. For something a little more seasonal, you can grab a cup of warm apple cider.

And to help keep you hydrated, there’s also a water bottle refill station on site.

What else is going on at the Calgary Farmyard?

On Friday and Saturday evenings, the Calgary Farmyard will light up with thousands of colourful lights as part of Harvest Lights. The attractions will stay open through the evening so you can stick around and experience the farmyard after dark. The corn maze will also be left dark for a flashlight challenge, so you’ll have to find your way through with just a glimmer of light guiding you.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately, pets aren’t allowed at Calgary Farmyard. The space is pet-free in order to help keep the animals and guests safe. According to Calgary Farmyard, service dogs are welcome, and guests are asked to bring identification.

How do I get there?

Calgary Farmyard is located just outside the city in Rocky View County. The easiest way to get there is by car, as there is no public transportation that services the farm because of its rural location. If you don’t have access to a car, taking an Uber or taxi is the most cost-efficient option.

When is Fall Days happening?

Fall Days will run from Friday, Sept. 11, until Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays and holidays. With the event running for more than a month, you’ve got a decent window to plan your visit.

How much are tickets?

General admission tickets for Fall Days are $25.95 plus GST for anyone aged three and up when purchased online, while children aged two and under can enter for free. Buying your ticket online also saves 17 per cent compared to the gate price, so it’s worth grabbing yours ahead of time if you already know you want to go.
