Did you know you can book a TTC streetcar for a private party? Well, now you do.

If you had looked through the forum this week, you would have learned that you can rent a TTC streetcar for a private party.
The original poster wrote: “It was a friend’s birthday party on Friday, and she rented a TTC streetcar that picked us up in Parkdale, and we rode all around downtown for four hours, covering pretty much every inch of track while some DJ friends played a few sets.”
They even shared a video of the party on their Take More Detours! YouTube page, where passersby were shocked to see the party on the streetcar.
If you didn’t know this, most commenters in the replies didn’t either.

While one poster commented, “Awesome! How much did this cost?”
Don’t worry, my fellow Redditor, we can answer that question.
According to the TTC’s charter rates, a streetcar can be booked for three hours for $2,410.29 (including HST), and each additional hour would cost $568.39 (including HST).
A streetcar can hold up to 251 passengers, with 70 seats and 181 standing.
A TTC supervisor must also be on the streetcar for bar crawls, film shoots, or anything else the transit agency deems necessary.
They cost an additional $126.56 (including HST) an hour for a minimum of four.
You can design your own route for your chartered streetcar. Once the TTC approves your selected route, your streetcar will operate with regular scheduled service, meaning en route stops and breaks won’t be possible if they result in delays to regular service.
However, the TTC driver will try to accommodate stop requests, but has the final authority to operate the charter service.
These charters don’t run from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., so you’ll need to book outside of those hours.
This could be ideal if you are planning a large bar crawl and are worried about how you’ll transport people there.

However, keep in mind that to attend one of these streetcar parties, you must be 18 or older. You aren’t allowed to drink alcohol on the streetcar, either.
