Hoping to make some waves this sunny season? Sylvan Lake in Alberta is the ultimate place to beat the heat once the temperature starts to rise.

From the floating Aqua Splash waterpark to the picture-perfect lighthouse, there’s no shortage of things to see and do in the charming lake town, but there’s one event that really stands out.

Yeah, Buoy!

Affectionately named after the iconic film, JAWS on the Lake, will return this summer, and you won’t want to miss it.

Set against the backdrop of Lakefront Park, this big blue experience is one of Sylvan Lake’s most anticipated summer events, and if you’re a flick fanatic, it’s clear why.

Whether you’re stretched out on the grass or floating in the water on an inflatable, visitors will be shown a beloved H20-themed movie on a giant dual-sided screen.

More than just a viewing opportunity, this unique celebration will also bring food trucks and fun activities for all ages to the shore.

Mark your calendars

JAWS on the Lake will take place on July 12, 2025 and will likely be free as it has been in previous years.

This year’s movie is still under wraps, but it won’t be long until it’s announced, so stay tuned. No matter what they choose, it’s sure to be a hit.

Don’t miss your chance to dive in.

We’ll see you on the water.
