The Young and the Restless star Joshua Morrow has played Nick Newman since 1994. Now the veteran actor has revealed how he once pitched a crossover with a fellow CBS soap so he can share scenes with his son, Crew Morrow, and says the show’s boss loved the idea.
Morrow shared the story during an appearance on the SOAPY podcast, where he discussed his career and balancing fame with fatherhood.
During the conversation, Morrow spoke about the possibility of crossing over to The Bold and the Beautiful, where his son Crew currently appears.
Morrow said he brought up the idea while vacationing in Monaco where he ran into executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell. “Brad and I have been friends a very long time,” Morrow said. “I love him.”
The actor said the conversation happened shortly after Crew was cast. “I was like, Brad, for all that’s holy, please bring me over. I just want to have a scene with my son.”
Morrow said Bell responded enthusiastically. “He said it was a great idea! He agreed, ‘Let’s do it!’”

Morrow then joked that the conversation may have been helped by vacation cocktails. Still, he insisted he was serious about the crossover idea, saying Nick Newman could easily pop over to Los Angeles for a visit, and perhaps stir things up with Steffy Forrester (Jaqueline MacInnes Wood).
Crew joined the cast of Bold and the Beautiful in 2024 as the son of Bill Spencer Jr. (Don Diamont) and Katie Logan (Heather Tom). Since his arrival he has been involved in numerous front burner storylines, including being sexually assaulted by Luna Nozawa and had a relationship with Electra Forrester and Melissa Dylan.
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS and streams weeknights on Paramount+.
