IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

The personal connections you make in the year ahead will come in useful not just socially but professionally too. The universe will send the right person your way at precisely the right time. It would be rude of you not to make use of them.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

You need to get past your tendency to tell other people what they should do and how they should do it. The planets warn if you carry on trying to control both their thoughts and their deeds you may end up in charge of neither.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

There is a major luck factor working in your favour, so don’t hold back from trying things that excite you but maybe also frighten you a bit. Some things will go wrong, of course, but the universe will catch you before you fall too far.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

The more you desire reaching a particular goal the more likely it is you will succeed. The power of your thoughts and emotions is such that if you combine them together they will create your future - and influence the world’s future as well.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

Life is not a zero-sum game and other people don’t have to fail for you to succeed. Keep that fact in mind today and don’t hesitate to help even your rivals if you get the chance. You will be an even bigger winner if they win too.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

You may be delighted by recent developments but not everyone is convinced it’s for the best. Maybe you should point out to them that change is inevitable and that the bigger the change the bigger the opportunities. Only fools fear the future.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

You may be tempted to take things easy today but if you do you will look back later on and wish you had been more ambitious. Mars in the career area of your chart is about to provoke major changes - changes you must take advantage of.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

What occurs today may not turn your world upside down but it will set the scene for what’s coming over the weekend. As one of the zodiac’s cardinal signs you know that opportunities tend to come in batches, and the first batch is on its way.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

It does not matter than no one else seems to have faith in what you are doing, it matters only that you don’t give up. Even if some of your ideas contain obvious flaws you can overcome them with energy, enthusiasm and sheer self-belief.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

Over the next few days you could find yourself seriously at odds with various people, including those you love and those you work for. You will need to protect yourself, but don’t overstep the line and go from defensive action to aggression.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

Your actions DO make a difference and for your own peace of mind you should keep telling yourself that throughout the day and into the weekend. You are not a powerless pawn destined to be sacrificed, you are a major piece in the cosmic game.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

If something doesn’t look right today then stand back from it a bit and squint your eyes. If it still doesn’t come into focus then ask someone you trust to tell you what they see. It could be you are looking at it from the wrong angle.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

If you get the chance to do a good deed for a friend today then do it with no questions asked and expect no rewards. Later on you may have to behave in a more selfish, even ruthless, manner, so feel good about yourself while you can.
