Your lookahead horoscope: August 16, 2026 | Canada Voices

IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

The only danger this year is that you could be a bit too pushy for your own good. You may possess loads of self-confidence but employers and senior colleagues need to see you can be humble as well. Then they’ll welcome you into their team.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

If you put yourself about a bit over the next few days you may be surprised how much you manage to get done and how many people are eager to assist you. With the sun and Jupiter on your side everyone wants to be your friend.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

You’re not about to let other people talk you out of doing something that feels right for you on a professional level. The more they cast doubt on your ability to succeed the more motivated you will be to show them they are wrong.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

Be open about what you need over the coming week because if you keep your thoughts and feelings to yourself others will assume that you don’t want their help. You can never have too many friends, especially those in high places.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

Your rivals will do a lot of talking this week but hardly a word of it will be worth listening to. You have already worked out what they are up to and what they are trying to hide, and none of it should give you cause for concern.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

Don’t waste your time on people whose outlook on life places them several rungs lower than you on the optimism scale. The fact is you don’t need their help anyway － you know what you want, you know where to get it and nothing else matters.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

Conflict of some kind is inevitable over the next few days but don’t let it cause a major split with people you will have to collaborate with in the weeks and months to come. Leave your personal differences at the door and work as a team.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

Whatever it is you were recently held back from doing you will now get the green light to proceed. But don’t go racing ahead at such a speed that you risk making a wrong move. There’s no rush, time is very much on your side.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

You have never been the sort to take the kind of risk that looks more likely to fail than succeed and there is no reason why you should change your ways now. Be smart and stick with the odds, because a small return is better than a loss.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

Before you head out to make your mark on the world take a few minutes to look ahead and identify any potential obstacles you may encounter along the way. A little bit of planning now could save you a lot of trouble later on.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

Ignore what is going on in the wider world and focus on what is taking place in your everyday environment. The planets indicate there is big money to be made from allying yourself with the latest trends in technology, so move with the times.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

You may have struggled to get your act together of late but now you can see why the universe held you back for a bit. It was because you needed to learn certain lessons, and now that you have there will be no stopping you.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

Don’t try too hard to impress those you work alongside this week, because no matter how hard you try they will still find fault with what you do. Make it look as if you could not care less what they think of you. Better still, make it the truth.
