Calgary’s summer calendar is in full swing this week, with live music, comedy, festivals and outdoor experiences happening across the city. So whether you’re planning a full day out or just looking for something spontaneous to do, there’s no shortage of ways to get out and explore.

The YMCA Charity Golf Tournament is a full day on the course supporting YMCA summer camp programs for kids. Proceeds help provide camp experiences that build confidence, connection, and lifelong memories for children facing financial barriers. Alongside the golf, the event will feature on-course activations and a post-event reception.

When: Monday, June 15, 2026
Time: Bearspaw Golf Club – 61 Hamilton Dr., Calgary, Alta.
Where: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Cost: Starting at $350

Looking to catch some live theatre this week? Come From Away is a Tony Award-winning musical that tells the true story of the days following September 11, when 38 planes carrying thousands of passengers were unexpectedly diverted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland.

ATCO Energy will match every dollar spent, up to $10,000, helping support WINS’ programs for women and families in Calgary. It’s an easy way to give back while shopping secondhand, with every purchase going further for the community.

A five-day festival is taking over Calgary and transforming the city into one large stage. Sled Island will bring live music, comedy, film and visual art to venues across the city, encouraging people to explore different spaces and discover new artists.

17th on 17th is a live music event that takes over 17th Avenue, featuring performances at multiple venues along the street. It turns the street into a walkable music route where you can move between venues, catch different acts, and explore the area as you go.

Where: Tomkins Park – 7th St. SW, Calgary, Alta.

Explore Spruce Meadows – June and July feature full-day summer experiences with live outdoor music, Friday Movie Nights under the stars, corgi races on Fridays and Saturdays, dachshund races on Sundays, and so much more. All of it leads into world-class international show jumping as the main event of the weekend.

When: Tournaments run June 5 to June 7, June 12 to June 14, June 26 to 28, and July 3 to July 5, 2026, with movie nights running every Friday

The Calgary Surge are up against the Brampton Honey Badgers this week, which means we’re in for a solid night of basketball with high-energy crowds.

If you’re looking for a relaxing evening activity, Reader Rock Garden is hosting a historic walking tour that explores its story. Home to over 4000 plant varieties, the garden is one of Calgary’s most unique green spaces and has become a well-known relaxing spot in the city.
