Family Day is just a few days away, and by the looks of it, there will be tons of things to do in Toronto. We’ve put together a list of activities and events to enjoy on Feb. 16, so now all you have to do is decide who you’re spending the day with.

Here’s the rundown:

Just in time for Valentine’s Day and Family Day, the four-day event will feature a little bit of everything for everyone. We’re talking live music and entertainment, workshops and experiences, along with Family Day specials.

When: Feb. 13 to 16, 2026
Time: Noon to 10 p.m.
Where: Stackt Market — 28 Bathurst St.
Cost: Free

Skate rentals are available on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 5 to 8 p.m.

Get your skate on!

When: Until Feb. 16, 2026
Time: Monday to Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from noon to 9 p.m.
Where: 250 Fort York Blvd.
Cost: Free admission

Celebrate the Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Horse at the Aga Khan Museum this Family Day weekend. Expect exciting activities and performances presented in partnership with the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto.

There will be calligraphy demonstrations in the Atrium, a stunning lion dance to captivating live music, and creative workshops.

When: Feb. 16, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Family Day
Where: Aga Khan Museum, 77 Wynford Dr.

Celebrating its third year, Illuminite will explore the theme of “Play” through several immersive light-based installations, according to the Downtown Yonge BIA. They will be spread across five unique locations in the Downtown Yonge area starting Feb. 13, 2026. Perfect timing for Family Day.

When: Feb. 13 to March 8, 2026
Where: Across Downtown Yonge BIA
Cost: Free

Running from Feb. 16 to March 27, 2026, Lumière: The Art of Light will take over the Ontario Place Park, lighting up the night sky from 6 to 11 p.m.

This year, the event celebrates the theme “Rhythms of Light: Motions, Sound, and Time,” displaying cold and imaginative works by talented Ontario-based artists. From intricate installations to immersive displays, the exhibition offers a chance to see how light can transform space, inspire creativity and create magical moments.

When: Feb. 16 to March 27, 2026
Time: 6 to 11 p.m.
Where: Ontario Place, Trillium Park — 955 Lake Shore Blvd. W.
Cost: Free

Celebration Square in Mississauga will have free programming from noon to 4 p.m. on Family Day.

Enjoy free ice skating, a live DJ spinning tracks, and food trucks to grab a bite at.

When: Feb. 16, 2026
Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
Where: Celebration Square, 300 City Centre Dr
Cost: Free

Ontario’s historic Legislative Building has a lineup of free festivities this Family Day, including a guided tour, crafts, face painting and live performances.

Cost: Free

Beginning Family Day, Winter Stations invites all to embrace and experience this year’s theme, Mirage. According to organizers, the competition “invited proposals that play with the boundary between what is seen and what is real in the age of AI, and explore public art as infrastructure that gathers people in shared reality.”

When: Feb. 16 until March 30, 2026
Time: Any time
Where: Woodbine Beach, 1675 Lake Shore Blvd. E.
Cost: Free

Talk about a blast from the past! Hotel X Toronto is bringing back its popular Retro Arcade, offering an all-access pass for players to fall in love with classic gaming all over again.

Relive timeless favourites and even some newbies, including Monster Kart, eight-player Foosball, Extreme Shot, motorcycle racing, Dance Dance Revolution, and so much more.

When: Feb. 13 to March 22, 2026
Time: Daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Where: Hotel X Toronto, 111 Princes’ Blvd.
Cost: $27.18 for an all-day play pass.

Open daily from dawn until dusk, Roots Rink at 1 Hotel Toronto is the latest addition to the area, welcoming visitors and locals to enjoy a day on the rink. The long and narrow rink is completely free for public use, making it a great spot to enjoy some time on the ice.
