10 things to do in Toronto this week (Aug. 24-28)

23 August 20265 Mins Read

Could it be? The final week of August? We still get to enjoy a few more weeks of summer, but August, unfortunately, has come and gone. Nonetheless, it’s another thrilling week in the city, and there are tons of things to do in Toronto. We’re so stoked for all the fun that’s to come. That means a few more rounds of outdoor adventures, patio outings with friends, and an intoxicating city vibe.

Want to know what’s going on in the city? Here are 10 of the best things to do this week in Toronto.

On Tuesdays, Casa Loma will bring Rock Symphony to the stage, featuring vocals from Justin Di Donato and Cleopatra Williams. Expect a blending of classical instrumentation with iconic rock anthems for a powerful crossover experience.

When: Tuesdays, until Sept. 7, 2026
Time: Doors open at 5 p.m.
Where: Casa Loma — 1 Austin Terr.
Cost: $55+

Each year, the Toronto Music Garden is transformed into a breathtaking open-air theatre, where music and nature intertwine in perfect harmony.

Locals and visitors alike are invited to experience the magic, as the sounds of talented Canadian artists and international names fill the garden with melody, rhythm, and soul, all completely free of charge.

When: Thursdays and Sundays until Aug. 27, 2026
Time: Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m.
Where: Toronto Music Garden — 479 Queens Quay W.

It Takes a Village is the Upper Village BIA’s free Thursday-evening festival on Eglinton Avenue West. Each week the neighbourhood gathers for a community market of local makers and food vendors, live entertainment, family-friendly activities and pop-ups from Upper Village shops and restaurants. Come shop local, grab dinner from a vendor and stay for the evening. Free admission, all ages welcome, no registration required.

When: Thursdays, until Sept. 24, 2026 (9-week series). Upcoming dates: Aug. 27, Sept. 3, Sept. 10, Sept. 17 and Sept. 24.
Time: 4 to 8 p.m.
Where: Hilltop Green P – 912 Eglinton Ave. W. Upper Village BIA, Eglinton Avenue West between Bathurst Street and Allen Road, Toronto.

Possibly one of the best Happy Hour deals in Toronto. Make your way to The Drake for $13 cocktails and 30 per cent off select menu items. You can enjoy this deal at its four spaces: the Sky Yard rooftop, the Cafe Patio, the Lounge, and the Modern Wing Lobby Bar.

See me there with a Hugo Spritz and $7 hand-cut fries.

When: Every day
Time: 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: 1150 Queen St. W.
Cost: $13 cocktails, 30 per cent off select menu items

A pink double-decker bus will be rolling through the streets of Toronto, bringing in Canada’s first afternoon tea experience served in motion.

Though we’ve seen our fair share of jaw-dropping, questionable, and even shocking scenes in the city, there’s nothing quite like High Sociétéa.

It’s huge, it’s pink, and it’s moving. This double-decker experience offers a curated city tour, live violin, and a theatrical onboard experience under a panoramic glass roof with 180-degree city views.

When: Tuesdays to Sundays
Time: From 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Departure and return are from a central downtown Toronto spot (details after booking)
Cost: $125+

Girl Dinners are not just exclusive to your homes; it’s now at Chotto Matte Toronto. We’re talking Chotto Caesar Salad, Truffled Yuca Fries, Chotto Matte’s signature Dragon Roll, and the choice between three martini favourites: Dirty Nikkei Martini, Lychee Lover Martini, or classic Espresso Martini.

When: Thursdays to Saturdays
Time: 6 p.m. to late
Where: 161 Bay St.
Cost: $44

The annual festival is back this summer, and it’s taking over Nathan Phillips Square for a weekend of celebration. Good eats, lively music and great vibes.

When: Friday, Aug. 28 to Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026
Time: Friday from 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 1 to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m.
Where: Nathan Phillips Square — 100 Queen St. W.

Nothing sounds better than chowing down on mouthwatering eats and testing out all the midway rides while taking in all the CNE vibes. It’s finally here! Will you be going to the CNE this year?

When: Until Monday, Sept. 7, 2026
Time: 10 am to midnight
Where: Toronto’s Exhibition Place north of Lake Shore Boulevard West between Strachan & Dufferin streets
Cost: GA – $26.55 plus fees

The iconic One Piece pop-up store is back this summer at Mississauga’s Square One. After the success of its initial launch back in 2025, the pop-up experience is returning with bountiful treasures, some of which are new additions to its collection. Inspired by a ship cabin, the 2.0 edition of the pop-up brings its 20-foot-tall sail installation to Square One for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.

When: Until Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026
Where: Centre Court, Square One – 100 City Centre Dr., Mississauga

After weeks of FIFA World Cup action, Toronto’s The Bentway is back to business, opening up its 200-metre skating trail for another season of roller skating under the Gardiner.

Not only will you be able to enjoy some skating action this summer, but you will also be able to take part in a series of community-driven events. These include skate parties, beginner lessons, art workshops, family programming, and the launch of a brand-new after-school program for young city-builders.

When: Until Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026
Time: Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 8 p.m.
