10 things to do this weekend in Toronto (July 17-19)

16 July 20266 Mins Read

It’s been a muggy few days, Toronto. We hope you’ve been keeping cool and refreshed this week, but it’s now the weekend, and we need some plans. Like always, there are tons of things to do in Toronto this weekend that will make you want to head out and get some fresh air. From FIFA World Cup games to outdoor parties and experiences, you’re about to have a busy weekend.

Here are 10 of the best things to do this weekend in Toronto.

Enjoy an outdoor celebration of Vietnamese cuisine, culture, and live entertainment all happening at Nathan Phillips Square. It’s going to be a delicious weekend.

When: Thursday, July 16 to Saturday, July 18, 2026
Where: Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.
Time: Thursday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The beloved two-day festival, BIG on Bloot, will highlight the city’s art and culture scene while showcasing performances and local business activations.

As it does every year, a portion of Bloor Street West will get blocked off to allow pedestrians to enjoy the festivities and shop along the street.

When: Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026
Where: Bloor Street West, between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue
Time: Noon to midnight, Sunday until 9 p.m.

FIFA Fan Festival Toronto has been quite the hotspot to catch all the World Cup action. Now until the final, Sunday, July 19, 2026, the event is streaming live match broadcasts, keeping you fed and quenched, and making sure you’re entertained. If the weather permits and the smoke clears, you can catch all the action on the big screen. General admission is free, but you must get tickets online to reserve your spot.

And trust us, they go quickly.

When: Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026
Where: 250 Fort York Blvd.
Time: Varies

The summertime event is marking its 25th spectacular season, set to enchant audiences starting Sunday, June 21. Each year, the Toronto Music Garden is transformed into a breathtaking open-air theatre, where music and nature intertwine in perfect harmony.

Locals and visitors alike are invited to experience the magic, as the sounds of talented Canadian artists and international names fill the garden with melody, rhythm, and soul, all completely free of charge.

When: Thursdays and Sundays until Aug. 27, 2026
Time: Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m.
Where: Toronto Music Garden — 479 Queens Quay W.
Cost: Free

A pink double-decker bus will be rolling through the streets of Toronto, bringing in Canada’s first afternoon tea experience served in motion.

Though we’ve seen our fair share of jaw-dropping, questionable, and even shocking scenes in the city, there’s nothing quite like High Sociétéa.

It’s huge, it’s pink, and it’s moving. This double-decker experience offers a curated city tour, live violin, and a theatrical onboard experience under a panoramic glass roof with 180-degree city views.

When: Thursdays to Sundays
Time: From 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through June
Where: Departure and return are from a central downtown Toronto spot (details after booking)
Cost: $125+

Picture this: it’s a beautiful summer weekend, the sun is shining bright, and you’re rolling out your yoga mat in the middle of one of Toronto’s most stunning gardens. Breathtaking Gardens is a new Sunday morning wellness series set against one of Toronto’s most striking backdrops.

According to Casa Loma, each session will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 11 a.m. It’ll begin with a collaborative wellness class led by a community leader in yoga, pilates, or stretching before moving into the Soul Expansion experience led by Freddy Gervasi and The Band of Souls.

When: Sundays until Aug. 30, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Where: Casa Loma – 1 Austin Terr.
Cost: $64+

Sport Chek transformed Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre into a massive soccer destination with the launch of a new free fan experience – a floating futsal pitch. It’s a nearly 130-foot field installed directly on the water.

The floating soccer field opens on Thursday, June 11 and runs until Sunday, July 19, when the tournament concludes. Admission is free, and 60-minute sessions can be booked online on a first-come, first-served basis.

When: Until Sunday, July 19, 2026
Time: 60-minute bookings daily
Where: 235 Queens Quay W.
Cost: Free (first-come, first-served)

If you need any World Cup plans, make your way to Stackt market daily until July 19 to experience the Adidas activation.

The space will offer free admission to up to 1,200 fans daily on a first-come, first-served basis. Luckily, you won’t need to sign up in advance or secure tickets online. But considering Toronto loves a lineup, you may want to get there early.

Expect watch parties on a 13.5′ x 24′ screen, eat from vendors offering food tailored to the tournament, including specially curated menus on select days, check out their 20’ x 10’ soccer activation where fans can try the adidas Predator or F50 boots, and so much more.

When: Daily until Sunday, July 19, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (closed Mondays)
Where: Stackt Market —28 Bathurst St.
Cost: Free

If you needed something fun to do besides all the FIFA excitement, the Ontario Science Centre has a new interim space at the Harbourfront Centre.

The new space will offer indoor and outdoor science and technology programming for visitors of all ages. It will also support waterfront tourism and STEM education until the new, permanent Ontario Science Centre opens at Ontario Place in 2029, according to its Instagram page.

When: Open daily
Time: Sunday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday until 8 p.m.
