Another week, another list of cool stuff to check out around the city. From theatre fests and comedy nights to block parties and quilts (yes, quilts!), the lineup of things to do in Edmonton this week is eclectic in the best way. Let’s dive in.

This citywide creative explosion is back for its 29th year! Yes, Edmonton’s biggest celebration of emerging creators across theatre, music, dance, film, visual art, and more is here. With 600+ young artists on the roster, this year’s going to be stacked full of talent.

When: Thursday, June 5 to June 15, 2025
Where: Roxy Theatre – 10708 124th St.
Cost: Various ticketed events

If you’ve seen Jared Goldstein’s stand-up online, you know he brings big laughs and even bigger charisma. And you can now catch him live and unfiltered at Grindstone Theatre. His sharp wit and Gen-Z-meets-millennial takes will have you in stitches.

When: Friday, June 6, 2025; 9 p.m.
Where: The Grindstone Comedy Theatre & Bistro – 10019 81st Ave.
Cost: $43 to $48

Listen up, reality TV fanatics, Kyle Cooke’s in the house! The Summer House star is hitting the stage for a night of storytelling, laughs, and behind-the-scenes tea. Expect some cheeky charm and entrepreneurial insight from Bravo’s most business-savvy bro.

Start your Pride weekend right at this bumpin’ downtown bash featuring drag, DJs, and dancing ‘til late. Get in free before 10 p.m., or pay a small cover after. It’s totally worth it for the vibe alone. Dress loud, proud, and ready to party.

Alt-rock legends The Wallflowers are rolling into Edmonton for a one-night-only gig. Yes, Jakob Dylan still sounds incredible. Expect the hits (“One Headlight” anyone?), plus some newer stuff that proves they’ve still got it. Great excuse for a little Friday night nostalgia trip.

Calling all crafters and cozy blanket lovers! This two-day fest is packed with stunning quilt exhibits, textile demos, and plenty of vendors for those looking to pick up a new hobby. Whether you’re there to admire or get hands-on, it’s sure to be a fun and wholesome event.

When: Friday, June 6, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, June 7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: $0 (for kids 12 and under) – $15

Baseball season is heating up, folks! And the Riverhawks are back on the diamond this weekend for a three-game showdown against the Bellingham Bells. With big bats, clutch plays, and that signature RE/MAX Field atmosphere (skyline views included), this is summer sports at its finest.
