’70s Rock Band Abruptly Cancels Show Amid Illness

15 May 20264 Mins Read

Kansas, the rock band behind the hit music “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind,” delivered an unexpected announcement.

The band, which kicked off the year with a string of shows on their North American tour, expressed regret after being forced to make major changes to the remainder of the tour.

In a social media post, Kansas broke the news that their upcoming performances in Minnesota are “cancelled.”

The two scheduled shows were set for May 15 at Shooting Star Casino Hotel & Event Center in Mahnomen, followed by the next day’s performance at Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton.

Following the unforeseen announcement, the rock group confirmed that they will continue with the remainder of the North American tour.

“Regretfully, due to an illness within the band, this weekend’s KANSAS concerts in Mahnomen, MN & Carlton, MN are cancelled. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. The next KANSAS concert will be on May 21, 2026, in Mayetta, KS. We apologize for any inconvenience to our fans,” the Kansas band wrote on X.
