Mandarin Oriental has opened a hotel in Vienna’s First District, marking its first location in Austria.

Mandarin Oriental has announced the opening of its new hotel in Vienna, located in the city’s First District. This marks the brand’s first entry into the Austrian market. The hotel is located within the historic Ringstrasse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The building, originally constructed in the early 20th century as a courthouse by Austrian architect Alfred Keller, has been transformed to become the new hotel. Interior design studio Goddard Littlefair carried out the renovation. The hotel comprises four floors with a total of 86 rooms and 52 suites.

The hotel features a central courtyard and original architectural elements, such as a grand staircase. It also offers a selection of dining venues under the direction of Chef Thomas Seifried. The dining options aim to combine Austrian culinary traditions with international influences.

Additionally, the hotel features a spa offering treatments inspired by Vienna’s artistic and musical heritage. The spa incorporates traditional Asian therapies and local cultural elements.

The Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, also features an artistic installation created by Austrian artist Peter Jellitsch. The artwork is designed to reflect both the spirit of Vienna and the brand’s Asian heritage, incorporating Art Nouveau elements.

The opening of Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, adds to the brand’s portfolio of international locations, expanding its presence in Europe. The strategic location in Vienna’s First District is intended to attract both local and international visitors.
