IHCL Signs Agreement for Ginger Hotel in Tuticorin, Tamil
IHCL has announced plans to open a 100-room Ginger hotel in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, marking its entry into the city.
The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed an agreement to develop a new Ginger hotel in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. The project is a greenfield development that will add 100 rooms to the company’s regional portfolio.
The planned hotel will be located along the Tirunelveli-Tuticorin highway, providing access to the city’s industrial and commercial areas. Facilities at the hotel will include a restaurant, bar, meeting spaces, and a fitness center.
Tuticorin is a port city on the Coromandel Coast in Tamil Nadu, known for its shipping, salt production, fishing, and growing industrial and manufacturing sectors. The city has seen increased investment in the automotive and energy industries, which has contributed to demand for long-stay accommodation.
The agreement for the new hotel was made in partnership with Thangam Real Estate & Thangam Plots & Farms Pvt. Ltd. The project is part of IHCL’s strategy to expand its presence in high-demand locations across India.
With this announcement, IHCL will have 28 hotels in Tamil Nadu, including 10 properties currently under development. The timeline for the opening of the Ginger Tuticorin hotel has not been disclosed.
