‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Katie Clark’s Husband Travis Reveals He Had an Affair

Travis Clark, husband of Bringing Up Bates‘ Katie Bates Clark, is opening up about an extramarital affair.

Travis confessed to his infidelity via Instagram Story on Saturday, Jan. 17.

“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust,” Travis wrote. “There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone.”

“I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry. I’m sorry for the pain, humiliation, and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices,” he continued. “I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for. I am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of outcome. I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.”

The 24-year-old nursing student’s confession came amid ongoing speculation from fans that the pair were on the rocks. Over the last few weeks, fans noticed Travis absent from his wife’s social media, with some fans claiming Katie unfollowed several of her husband’s female nursing school classmates.

Travis’s statement also comes one day after Katie shared she miscarried the couple’s third baby.

On Friday, Jan. 16, Katie took to Instagram with a video documenting her pregnancy journey, writing, “I will spend the rest of my life missing you 🪽.”

“I will ask God why for the rest of my life,” a voiceover said as footage of Katie showing a positive pregnancy test played. “And never will I come to understand it. Even if God himself came in front of me and told me the reason, I don’t think I will accept it.”

The video included snippets of Katie picking out baby clothes and announcing the pregnancy to her husband before ending with her crying in the hospital after learning the devastating news.

“Some loves are too hard to bear,” the audio concluded. “And with great love comes great pain. And with great loss comes the greatest pain of all. If love could’ve saved you, you would’ve lived forever.”

Immediately following her husband’s announcement, fans flooded the post’s comment section asking if Travis’s story was real. So far, Katie hasn’t responded to any of the concerned commenters.

Katie and Travis married in December 2021 and share daughter Hailey, 2, and sonHarvey, 1.

Katie is best known for starring on her family’s upTV reality series, Bringing Up Bates, which documented Katie’s parents, Gil and Kelly Jo Bates, and their 19 children for 10 seasons from 2015 to 2021.
