HelloFresh is helping Toronto beat the winter blues with delicious free meals

19 January 20263 Mins Read

The winter blues are something many Canadians experience, and they just so happen to peak every year on the third Monday of January, AKA Blue Monday. It’s considered the saddest day of the year, when Canadians feel winter at its worst — bitter cold weather and lack of sunlight.

In a recent HelloFresh survey, 60 per cent of respondents said they experience the winter blues. That’s why HelloFresh is serving up recipes featuring high-quality ingredients that can help boost your energy and overall well-being during these dreary months.

HelloFresh

On Jan. 19, HelloFresh will be popping up at Toronto’s Union Station with its Feel-Good Fridge and giving away free meals to commuters to help lift their mood on Blue Monday. All you have to do is share a “recipe” for beating the blues, and HelloFresh will reward you with a free meal kit to enjoy at home.

Fresh food for a good mood

HelloFresh knows that eating high-quality ingredients is proven to support a better mood. Standing firmly on the belief that food can support a better mood, HelloFresh knows this is especially beneficial during the long Canadian winters.

Take the Salmon Gremolata Butter, which features omega-3 fatty acid–rich salmon and folic acid–packed broccoli. The latter has been linked to maintaining a balanced mood, while fatty acids like those found in salmon support brain health.

HelloFresh’s Super Quick Moroccan-Style Chicken Bowl puts bold flavour front and centre — and it only takes 15 minutes to whip up. Spiced chicken is served with a zesty fig sauce atop a bed of cranberry couscous salad. Together, these lean, protein-packed ingredients can help support energy and focus.

HelloFresh offers calorie- and carb-smart, high-protein meals designed to support balanced eating habits and renewed energy during winter. After all, it’s easier to nourish yourself when you have energy, and it’s easier to have energy when you’re eating well.

HelloFresh the blues away

Visit the HelloFresh Feel-Good Fridge on Monday, Jan. 19, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., while supplies last, at the activation space in the GO Bay Concourse.

Simply share your recipe for feeling better, whether that be a cup of tea or a simple tip, and your note will be added to a growing wall of others, showcasing positivity and connection.

As a thank you, recipe-sharers will receive a free HelloFresh meal — just the answer to beat the winter blues and fuel up on good vibes.

Be sure to stop by early to score some swag, too! And if you can’t make it down to Union Station, turn your winter blues into brighter days by visiting HelloFresh.ca to explore the full collection of recipes.

HelloFresh Feel-Good Fridge
