Every 2026 Book Club Pick From Jenna Bush Hager (Updated Monthly)

28 January 20267 Mins Read

When Jenna Bush Hager first launched Read With Jenna in March 2019, she had no idea her book club would lead to dozens of bestsellers, an annual festival and her own publishing imprint, Thousand Voices. Every month, the Today host announces a new pick to devoted bookworms across the globe.

Jenna’s passion for reading started long before she ever pulled up a chair at Studio 1A. Both her grandmother—former First Lady Barbara Bush—and her mom, former librarian and First Lady Laura Bush, fostered an enduring love of books throughout her childhood. And while Jenna didn’t launch Read With Jenna until almost a year after her grandmother’s death, she knows the former First Lady would be proud. “I get to speak with authors who she loved and loved her like John Grisham,” she toldParade in 2023. “And others who have said to me, ‘Your grandmother would have really loved what you’re doing.’ And that is like the biggest compliment.”

Let’s take a look at every Read With Jenna pick for 2026 in our list. Because Jenna generally reveals her latest selection on the first Monday or Tuesday of the month on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, only January’s book has been announced so far, but we’ll also take a look at four upcoming releases from Jenna’s Thousand Voices book imprint. (Note that this page will be updated monthly; every time a new selection is officially announced.)

January 2026: Home Schooled by Stefan Merrill Block

Jenna’s first pick of 2026, Home Schooled

Amazon

In his debut memoir—Home Schooled—Stefan Merrill Block recounts growing up in Texas. When he was just nine years old, his mother pulled him out of a traditional educational setting in order to homeschool him. The book’s publisher describes it as “a heartbreaking, empowering, often hilarious debut memoir about a mother’s all-consuming love, a son’s perilous quest to discover the world beyond the front door and the unregulated homeschool system that impacts millions like him.”

Jenna says Home Schooled is “stunning” and “one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read.” With so many parents across America opting to homeschool their children, Block’s memoir couldn’t be more timely. If you enjoyed Tara Westover’sEducated or Jeannette Walls’The Glass Castle, you won’t be able to put down this deeply moving—but also unexpectedly hilarious—story that beautifully explores the fine line between maternal love and the need for independence.

Let’s take a look at each one—including their tentative release dates and official descriptions.

February 17, 2026: Laws of Love and Logic by Debra Curtis

In the serene town of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Lily Webb is deeply in love with a charismatic boy, a college-bound quarterback whose spectacular athletic talents are matched only by his fierce devotion. But their dreams of a life together are cut short when his passionate protectiveness leads to an irrevocable choice—one that tears them apart and leads Lily down a path of heartbreak from which she may never recover.

Lily already knows the sting of loss, beginning with the death of her mother, a tragedy that left deep scars on both her and her gifted younger sister, Jane. Jane seeks escape in the abstract world of mathematics and quantum mechanics—when she can keep the demons that fuel her addictions at bay. As the years pass, Lily buries her twin griefs deep in her heart, finding solace and a new beginning with Marshall Middleton, a renowned ornithologist whose love is as steadfast as the migration patterns he studies. Yet the shadows of her past linger.

When the boy who was once everything to Lily reappears in her life, she struggles with questions around that terrible night in high school. Can she reconcile the wild wonderment of her first love with the comfort and safety of her second? Laws of Love and Logic explores love’s enduring power and the human spirit’s capacity for forgiveness and redemption.

April 7, 2026: Into the Blue: A Love Story by Emma Brodie

In the summer of 2000, AJ Graves dreams of writing for Saturday Night Live; instead, she’s stuck working in a video rental store, with slim odds of escaping her small Massachusetts town. Then in walks Noah Drew, the enigmatic and intense scion of the Drew acting dynasty, and her life changes forever. Despite wildly different upbringings, the two forge a deep, cosmic bond, first as friends, then as acting partners—until one day, Noah disappears without a word.

Seven years later, in New York City, AJ is shocked to find herself cast in the same intergalactic TV production as Noah, by then a well-known Hollywood heartthrob. As their on-screen characters grow closer every day, the lines between reality and acting begin to blur. Unable to stay away from each other, AJ and Noah are forced to confront the truth of what happened years ago—and the devastating secret that will send their lives careening apart, even as fate continues to draw them together.

Dolores and Mita grow up in rural Brazil, identical and inseparable. But Mita develops a mysterious illness that challenges the family. One day, Dolores wakes up to find her sister gone—sent to a hospital in their father’s native London. There is no Dolores without Mita. And now Mita is gone.

When the family moves to Rio, Dolores’ parents act as if Mita never existed. Lonely and grief-stricken, Dolores struggles to learn to read and write at the stodgy British School—until she meets Andrea, a headstrong, streetwise girl from the dangerous part of town. Andrea shows Dolores a new side of Rio—and how to survive it. As the dictatorship cracks down on dissenters, and people disappear, Dolores begins to wonder if her sister is dead, and her parents are lying. Determined to uncover the truth, Dolores is willing to do whatever it takes—lie, gamble and steal—to get her sister back.

May 12, 2026: June Baby by Shannon Garvey

At seventeen, Ruth lost her mother to cancer, and her father, unable to handle his grieving daughter, shipped her off to Block Island with nothing but a name scribbled on the back of a receipt: Diana Beckett. Diana, a renowned photographer, took Ruth in for the summer, and Block Island became Ruth’s refuge, a place of beauty and creativity, a place where she could nurture her dreams of being a writer, a place where she could fall in love for the first time—with Diana’s nephew, Charlie.

Now, at twenty-seven, Ruth has spent the last ten summers living and working among the lucky few who get to vacation in this wealthy beach town, and the rest of the year just scraping by, yearning to return to the place where she feels safe and unburdened. But then Ruth’s world is upended by tragedy again. Desperate for an anchor, she reaches for the person she’s been pining for since she met him—Charlie—who has his own startling revelation to share. And when another surprise comes in the form of a box left to Ruth by Diana, its contents raise questions about just how well she knew the two women who raised her. Torn between what to believe about her past, and what her future might hold, Ruth is faced with another choice: does she dare to rewrite her story entirely?
