Netflix has officially pulled back the curtain on the seventh season of its longest-running original scripted drama, Virgin River. From honeymoon bliss to medical board investigations, here is the latest on the new episodes arriving on March 12th, 2026.
Following the romantic Season 6 finale where Mel and Jack finally tied the knot, fans have been eager to see what life looks like for the Sheridans as newlyweds.
Today, Netflix released a series of first-look photos and a teaser trailer that promise plenty of small-town charm, and the trademark drama that keeps the show so popular now, coming up to seven years after its initial premiere. Don’t forget that season 8 is on the way, too, with production due to begin this April, as we detailed in our recent report covering their production plans. A 2027 return is expected.
When is Virgin River Season 7 coming to Netflix?
Virgin River Season 7 will premiere globally on Netflix on Thursday, March 12, 2026, as first revealed last month as part of the Next on Netflix 2026 reveals. The official trailer released today confirms that with the caption for the video stating: Newly married, Mel and Jack pursue their dream of adopting a baby, while old loves smolder and new threats challenge Virgin River.

What to Expect in Season 7
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has teased that while Mel and Jack are solid, the town is far from quiet. Key storylines include:
- The Honeymoon Phase: The season explores Mel and Jack building their lives together on the farm, which comes with its own unique obstacles.
- No Breakups in Sight: Smith confirmed he cannot imagine a scenario where Mel and Jack break up, focusing instead on “emotional stakes” rather than “will they, won’t they”.
- Multi-Generational Romance: The series will continue to highlight love stories across ages, including Hope and Doc rekindling their romance and Lizzie and Denny expecting their first child.
- Doc’s Practice Under Fire: With Victoria investigating Doc for the medical board, his professional future remains a major question mark.
Netflix also confirmed some more details about the team behind the scenes on season 7:
