Canada’s most southern town is tucked along this Ontario shore

19 February 20263 Mins Read

Want to take a trip down south this winter? While it may not be the Florida vacation you’re envisioning, Canada’s most southern town is worth the visit. Kingsville, Ont., is tucked along the shores of Lake Erie, offering delicious dining options, awesome shopping and adorable stays.

The most southern town in the country is, you guessed it, south.

Located about 45 minutes away from Windsor, getting to Kingsville will take you around four hours by car if you’re coming from Toronto or the GTA.

Exploring Kingsville, Ont.

If you’re heading to Kingsville, you’re going to need to grab a bite and let me be the one to recommend Mettawas Station. Known for serving up out-of-this-world Mediterranean dishes, this was one of the best restaurants I’d been to in months when I visited my family over the holidays.

The dinner menu has options such as Sicilian arancini, roasted rack of lamb, veal marsala, escargot, smoked mozzarella ravioli and linguine pescatore.

Need something to wash down your meal? Kingsville is home to a handful of breweries and wineries. The Grove Brewing Company is a local favourite, around since 2017. The brews range from flavourful stouts to crispy lagers.

Kingsville Winery is perfect for those who prefer something a little more *grape-forward.* Drop in for a glass of vino or take advantage of one of their dining deals like the VIP tour, tasting and charcuterie offer.

The town is also full of small businesses to get your shopping fix in. The Local Maker, Cindy’s, Olive Branch on Main, Paisley Dreamer and WM Decor are all must-visits.

Finally, lie your head down at the end of the night at one of the area’s beautiful stays. My recommendation is The Grove Hotel. Found right in the heart of town, the boutique hotel is part of a historic 1854 building. The cozy rooms are a perfect mix of rustic and modern.

Most of the town’s cafes, shops, and restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel, so you’re all set!

A fabulous weekend in Kingsville is ahead.
