‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2 Coming to Netflix in May 2026 & First Look

4 March 20268 Mins Read

After starting as a limited series, Netflix’s TV adaptation of The Four Seasons is charting sunny pastures and was renewed for a second season. Fans won’t have much longer to wait as The Four Seasons’ second season comes to Netflix on May 28, 2026.

The Four Seasons is a Netflix Original comedy series co-created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracy Wigfield. It is an adaptation of the 1981 movie of the same name, which starred, was written by, and directed by Alan Alda.

The series stars Tina Fey, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney, Marco Clavani, Erika Henningsen, Colman Domingo, and Steve Carell.

The dynamic of a group of six friends who regularly vacation with each other is thrown into chaos when Nick divorces his wife of 25 years, Anne, and soon finds a much younger woman who joins him on subsequent trips.

What is the renewal status of The Four Seasons?

Official Renewal Status: Renewed (Last Updated: 14/05/2025)

Well, that was fast! It only took two weeks, but after two strong weeks on Netflix, the streaming service announced that The Four Seasons was renewed for a second season. We’re unsurprised by the renewal, considering that Netflix opted to change the series from “Limited” to “Season 1.”

The show’s creators had already expressed an interest in making a second season, but this depends on Netflix giving them the green light.

Tina Fey, actor and co-creator of the series, had the following to say about a second season:

“I feel like we sort of don’t dare to dream yet. But we did. Who knows. If we were lucky enough to do more of these, we’d certainly all like to hang out again.”

Fellow co-creator Tracey Wigfield also shared her thoughts on the possibility of a second season:

“If we did another season, we would want the same group of friends. We’d want Ginny to really be tied in there because she and Anne are going to have children who are siblings. And it just gives us a lot to play with in their relationship.”

Co-creators and co-showrunners Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield shared their excitement in a joint statement:

“We are so grateful that audiences worldwide share our love of cozy sweaters, drinks by the ocean, and picking fights in a hot tub. See you on our next vacation together!”

This is one of several new renewals announced recently as part of the Netflix Upfront presentation, an annual presentation for advertisers and the press detailing their upcoming slate. Among the other renewals included Forever, The Diplomat, Bridgerton, and My Life with the Walter Boys. That’s in addition to new details and assets for other upcoming shows and movies. Full list of announcements here.

How has the series performed so far?

In the first four days of release, The Four Seasons has amassed 11.9 million CVEs, which, as reported in our weekly round-up, is around the “average” for limited series debuting in 2025 and on the lower end for a U.S. title.

However, when compared against other Netflix comedies, The Four Seasons is off to a super strong start, with only Nobody Wants This, beating the series for views in the second week.

What can we expect from the second season of The Four Seasons?

As co-creator Tracey Wigfield alluded to above, the second season of The Four Seasons could focus on Ginny, who is pregnant with Nick’s child.

While Ginny may not be a “member” of the friendship group (yet), her pregnancy with Nick’s child means she will definitely be in their lives for a long time. Naturally, this means we may see a significant focus on Ginny and Anne’s relationship, as the pair will share children who are siblings. Also, with Nick’s death, Ginny does not have the support of a partner, whereas Anne, who was married to Nick for 25 years, had him to lean on during their marriage and raising Lila.

At the very least, Ginny will be pregnant in Spring and likely give birth during the Summer. Or they may skip her giving birth, and by the Fall episodes, we’ll see her with her newborn child. It will be fun to see the long-time parents Kate, Jack, and Anne help Ginny throughout her pregnancy and likely the first several months after the baby is born.

We may also see what happens with Nick’s will. We already know he was the “hedge fund” king and made a fortune from the markets; however, as he is divorced from Anne and only knew Ginny for seven months, it’s unclear where either will stand to inherit from the will. This means all his money could go to his daughter Lila. She may have the last say on how much support her new sibling could receive from their father’s money.

The ripple effect of Ginny’s pregnancy could also impact Danny and Claude, who have yet to have children or adopt. With a baby on the way, the pair could become incredibly broody, or it may throw a wrench in their relationship if one of them gets cold feet over the idea of being parents.

Other story beats we could see in the second season are:

  • Lila’s relationship with Ginny.
  • Anne moving on and finding a new long-term partner.
  • Kate and Jack continue repairing their marriage.
  • The continuation of Danny’s health and how that will impact his feelings about becoming a parent.

Who can we expect to see return for The Four Seasons season 2?

With the exception of Steve Carell, we would expect the following cast members to return to reprise their roles in season 2:

  • Tina Fey as Kate.
  • Will Forte as Jack.
  • Kerri Kenney as Anne.
  • Marco Calvani as Claude.
  • Colman Domingo as Danny.
  • Erika Henningsen as Ginny.
  • Julia Lester as Lila.
  • Ashlyn Maddox as Beth.
