The sun is back, and it’s here to stay! This weekend is shaping up to be beautiful, complete with outdoor celebrations, baseball at the Nat, plant sales, and more. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (May 1-3).

Burnaby’s beloved springtime celebration returns to the Deer Lake Park Festival Lawn and Shadbolt Centre for the Arts this Sunday. Here, you’ll find a range of free live entertainment, roving performances, eco-artist installations, plant sales, food trucks, and more.

When: Sunday, May 3, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 6450 Deer Lake Ave., Burnaby
Cost: Free admission

This Sunday, Sophie Lui’s video “Chinatown Stories of Perseverance and Pride” will be screened at the Chinatown Storyelling Centre, exploring some of the rich history that has shaped Vancouver’s Chinatown community and the stories that will help shape its future.

When: Sunday, May 3, 2026
Time: 4 to 5 p.m.
Where: 168 East Pender St.
Cost: $15

One of Vancouver’s favourite handmade markets returns this spring. The Got Craft Spring Market takes place May 2 and 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Croatian Cultural Centre in East Vancouver, bringing together 100 Canadian makers and creatives. Now in its 19th year, the curated market features handmade goods, food trucks, Kid Entrepreneurs (Saturday), a free DIY zine station (Sunday), a mobile bookshop, and limited swag bags for the first 50 attendees each day.

When: Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 3250 Commercial Dr.
Cost: Tickets are $5 and available online in advance and at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.

YEBBA is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter known for her jazz-influenced voice and collaborations with high-profile artists like PJ Morton, which earned her a Grammy.

When: Friday, May 1, 2026
Time: 7 p.m.
Where: 868 Granville St. 
Cost: $53.75

It’s officially baseball season, which means the Vancouver Canadians are back at the Nat, and this weekend, they’re up against the Hillsboro Hops.

When: Games from Friday, May to Sunday, May 3, 2026
Time: Times vary
Where: 4601 Ontario St.

Vancouver’s free-to-enter container market is back on April 30 with over 30 new food and artisan vendors to check out. The lively, open-air marketplace is now in its third year, bringing visitors together for live screenings of World Cup matches, live music, sips from a waterfront bar, and rotating pop-ups.

When: Opens Thursday, April 30, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays, and until 9 p.m. on weekends
Where: 200 Granville St. 
Cost: Free admission

In addition to perennials and vegetables grown by Richmond gardeners, this sale at Paulik Park will feature opportunities for plant lovers to pick up a few skills from some master gardeners. You’ll be able to sharpen your garden tools and kitchen knives, and have access to microgreens and starter seedlings.

When: Saturday, May 2, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to noon
Where: 7620 Heather St., Richmond
Cost: Free admission

The zipline is back, the less-than-$10 happy hour items are back, and tons of exciting new attractions await at this year’s Richmond Night Market, which kicks off at the end of the week. Soon, millions of visitors from across the globe will gather to share in the city’s excitement for the FIFA season and beyond.

When: Opens Friday, April 24, 2026, operates Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Time: 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 11 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 8351 River Rd., Richmond
Cost: $7 for GA

The Improv Centre is introducing a hilarious new show based on a rotating crew of space explorers, who must rely on audience suggestions to explore a different “galaxy” every show.

When: Opens Thursday, April 9, running Fridays and Saturdays until June 27, 2026
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Where: 1502 Duranleau St. 
Cost: $31.50+

You can pick up some cherry blossom-themed treats at this year’s Vancouver Cherry Blossom Food Fest, which brings new food and drink options to spots across the city.
