Hyatt’s First Family & Adults-Only Combo Resort is Coming to Punta Cana

16 March 20263 Mins Read

Hyatt is officially breaking its traditional “twin resort” mold with the announcement of the Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana.

While the brand has historically paired family-friendly Ziva properties with a completely separate, standalone adults-only Zilara resort next door, this new 2029 flagship marks a major shift.

For the first time in the region, Hyatt is building a singular “combo” destination—a massive 650-room campus that features a dedicated adults-only accommodations building tucked directly into the family-friendly resort footprint.

“We are delighted by the trust placed in us by a valued owner like Codelpa, and by the opportunity to further strengthen our already solid portfolio in the Dominican Republic,” said Javier Águila, president, Inclusive Collection, Hyatt.

“Hyatt currently has 34 hotels—32 of them all-inclusive resorts—and nearly 17,000 rooms in the country. This is a clear reflection not only of our scale, but also of our long-standing commitment to a destination that is central to our past, present and future strategy in the Caribbean.”

“Punta Cana continues to be a prosperous destination for our guests and members seeking a family-friendly resort experience, and we are committed to expanding our brand presence and offerings within this trending region to meet these needs,” said Antonio Fungairino, head of development, Latin America & Caribbean, Inclusive Collection, Hyatt. “We’re thrilled to continue to expand our relationship with Codelpa and look forward to Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana in the region known for its rich history and culture, ideal for families.”

Located just 40 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, the resort is designed to solve the ultimate multigenerational travel dilemma.

Adults who want a break from the splashes can retreat to their own exclusive building and a private adults-only pool, while the rest of the group has access to a sprawling water park, five distinct pools, and family-oriented activities like a ropes course and a bowling alley.

The dining scene is equally ambitious, featuring five specialty restaurants, an international buffet, and a beach club. This announcement follows a surge of Hyatt growth in the Dominican Republic, including the upcoming 2026 debuts of Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana and Secrets Macao Beach.

By integrating a high-end adults-only enclave directly into the Ziva brand, Hyatt is ensuring that travelers no longer have to choose between a fun-filled family atmosphere and a quiet, 18+ sanctuary.
