There’s so much to do this weekend in Edmonton, and we can’t wait.

With festivals, markets, and concerts galore, we’ve rounded up some of the best things to do this weekend in Edmonton. No matter what it is you’re interested in, we’ve found something for everyone.

Now, let’s jump into things, shall we?

One of Edmonton’s longstanding film festivals, NorthwestFest, is back this April for more excellent indie filmmaking. Now, it includes not only the best of local and international indie filmmaking, but local music, art, and media.

When: Now until Tuesday, Apr. 14, 2026

Where: Metro Cinema — 8712 109th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Earlybird pricing starts at $84.40

Home to over 120 different vendors, more than 80 per cent of those vendors are local, who make, bake, and grow their own products. This year-round market offers so much more than you could ever imagine, so you’ll just have to check it out yourself.

When: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Where: 3696 97th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

There’s no question that Edmonton has some of the best escape rooms around. We’ve rounded up the best of them in a list for folks to check out as a family, and maybe, just maybe, you might be able to escape.

This is Edmonton’s science centre, with feature displays, interactive learning opportunities, and so much more. Here, you can even catch a movie in IMAX or participate in their Friday Night Trivia.

A live symphony orchestra will accompany a screening of How to Train Your Dragon, a movie whose score was Academy Award-nominated. This activity mixes everything kids and adults both love.

Where: Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium — 11455 87th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $45+

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s most premier farmers market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 10310 83rd Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton, and here, there are over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market takes on strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 12011 111th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

This Malla Market is themed Another Weekend for the Books, featuring a book swap, as well as over 35 local makers and small businesses.

When: Saturday, April 11, 2026, and Sunday, April 12, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday
Where: Kingsway Mall — 109 Kingsway NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Experience the first-ever live concert edition of this legendary classic film.

Two pianos, one orchestra, and a night you’ll never forget at the Winspear.
