1980s Rock Band Announces Brand New Album but There's a Twist

Fans of the Sacramento-born rock band Tesla know all too well that the group’s last full-length studio album Shock was released over seven years in 2019, followed several years later by a short six-track All About Love in November 2024. Well, the wait for a new Tesla album is over. Today the rockers announced they are releasing a new album titled Homage in July, but this time they’re serving up something a little different.

For this new album, Tesla is paying “homage” to some of music’s most enduring rock anthems with a fantastic mix of cover songs from music greats, including Supertramp, James Brown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Sr., Elvis Presley, Etta James, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and more.

Here is the full list of the covers on the forthcoming Tesla Homage album.

The group announced the new album on TikTok with a message from current band members Jeff Keith, Frank Hannon, Brian Wheat (bDub), Dave Rude, and Steve Brown:

“Ready for a new album!” they wrote. “We are excited to announce our new album, ‘Homage,’ releasing on July 17, 2026! The album finds us returning to our roots with a collection of covers honoring some of rock’s most timeless hits.”
