It’s still surprisingly difficult to watch the latest Demon Slayer movie
There’s some good news and bad news for fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle. A physical release was confirmed for July, but it’s a Japan exclusive. It’s also unknown when the movie will arrive on a streaming service internationally.
On April 17, Aniplex posted a video showcasing the standard and limited editions of the animated film’s Blu-ray and DVD editions. That trailer confirmed a July 29 release date as pre-orders opened. Although that date is still several months away, it’s great that Japanese fans finally have the opportunity to buy a physical version of Infinity Castle.
Fans in the United States aren’t so lucky. There’s still no word on when it will arrive in the West, and a streaming release date has not been announced. Typically, films get a Blu-ray release and hit streaming shortly after their theatrical run ends. We’re nine months out from the day Infinity Castle came to theaters internationally and are only now learning about a Japan-exclusive physical version.
The fact that the movie was briefly re-released in theaters earlier this year likely pushed back home media and streaming plans. Now, those outside of Japan don’t know when to expect a home media or streaming version of Infinity Castle. That’s a shame, because it was one of the highest-grossing films of 2025, so there’s clearly an international audience for the movie that would jump at the opportunity to buy a Blu-ray or watch it on a streamer. We’re not sure which streaming service it will come to, although Crunchyroll is a likely destination.
If you want to get your hands on a physical version of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle, importing from Japan will be your best option come July 29. Hopefully, we will have learned more about when the movie will get a Western physical release or be added to a streaming service by then, too.
