Canada’s longest suspension bridge opens for the season next month

28 April 20263 Mins Read

Eagle Canyon is home to Canada’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge. And the iconic bridge just so happens to be located in Ontario. If the thought alone stirs up some excitement, you can start planning your Eagle Canyon adventure for May.

When we say it’s the longest in Canada, we really mean it. According to its official page, the bridge extends 600 feet across the canyon and hangs 152 feet above the ground.

When does the bridge open for the season?

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to cross it, it’s truly an unforgettable experience. And you can enjoy it once again for the 2026 season as of Friday, May 15.

Though the showstopper of the canyon trip is the suspension bridge, there is a small bridge you can enjoy that’s about half the length.

The smaller bridge spans 300 feet across the canyon and hangs 125 feet above the floor.

“Cross the suspension bridges for an unforgettable thrill and witness for yourself the majestic beauty of the unique surroundings,” shares the canyon site. “View the depths of the canyon where a beautiful spring-fed lake runs through.”

Continue your outdoor adventure along one of the many wilderness trails available. You can even hike along the canyon lake shoreline for another memorable experience.

Eagle Canyon is just 45 minutes east of Thunder Bay, so if you happen to be in the area, a pit stop is a must.

Once it opens for the season, it will operate seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., until Oct. 15.

All visitors are required to sign in and pay an entrance fee of $23 per adult and $13 for those four to eight years old. Children under four are free.

Now, who’s ready to head up north?
