Anwar Aroussi Latest to Join Cast of ‘Bridgerton’ Season 5 As Filming Continues

The Bridgerton universe continues to expand! As production for the highly anticipated fifth season rolls on, we’ve spotted another fresh face joining the ton. Actor Anwar Aroussi has officially been cast in the upcoming season, What’s on Netflix can confirm. 

You may recall we actually got our first snapshot of the actor back when filming had kicked off, and we got some secretive behind-the-scenes shots. Anwar Aroussi is set to play the role of Lord Swallow in season 5 of Netflix’s smash-hit period drama from Shondaland.

This casting discovery follows our recent reports that three other key characters have already joined the season 5 cast: Gemma Knight Jones, Jacqueline Boatswain, and Tega Alexander. 

Who is Anwar Aroussi?

If you aren’t familiar with Aroussi just yet, Bridgerton is sure to give the British actor a massive global platform. Boasting training from both the Identity School of Acting and The Unseen Acting School, Aroussi is actively building a solid resume. Aside from his upcoming foray into Regency-era London, his recent and upcoming credits include:

• Close Personal Friends (2025) – A feature film from Amazon MGM Studios directed by Jason Orley, in which he plays the role of an EMT.
• The Reformation of Sister Edith (2026) – An upcoming feature film from Intake Films & Humble Priory, where he plays Lincoln.
• Jake Goes on a Date (2024) – A short film where he played the titular Jake.
• Bullman (2024) – A short film directed by Rebecca England.

Who is Lord Swallow?

As is standard with Shondaland’s tight-lipped production, exact details on how Lord Swallow will fit into the season’s overarching plot remain under wraps. It could be a very minor role for all we know, and we weren’t able to find any references to the character online. However, anytime a new “Lord” arrives in the ton, you can usually expect them to be a suitor looking for a match, a rival to one of our beloved Bridgerton siblings, or a brand-new ally navigating the treacherous waters of Lady Whistledown’s society pages.

What else do we know about Bridgerton Season 5?

If you need a quick catch-up on where things stand with the next installment of the franchise, Netflix has officially confirmed that Francesca and Michaela will be the romantic leads for season 5. Fans are incredibly eager to see their dynamic unfold as production continues at full steam through the Summer.

We reached out to Netflix numerous times over a three-week period for comment on his addition, but they have yet to respond.
