Creed and Rocky Collection Coming Next To Come to Netflix As Part of MGM Licensing Deal

We’ve started learning what’s coming to Netflix US in June 2026, and one of the major new arrivals includes the entire Creed movie trilogy, alongside the 2006 legacy sequel Rocky Balboa, which will be dropping on Netflix in the United States on June 1st.

Led by Michael B. Jordan—who you can currently catch starring in the new Netflix animated movie Swapped—the Creed films successfully revitalized the iconic boxing franchise for a totally new generation, shifting the focus to the son of one of cinema’s most famous rivals.

If you’re planning a binge-watch, here is a breakdown of the heavy-hitting movies making their way to Netflix this June:

  • Rocky Balboa (2006): Sylvester Stallone stepped back into the ring for what was, at the time, meant to be his final farewell to the character. Fast-forwarding decades after his prime, a widowed and aging Rocky is running a restaurant in Philadelphia. But when a virtual simulation predicts he could beat the current heavyweight champion, Mason “The Line” Dixon, the Italian Stallion laces up his gloves for one last grueling, deeply emotional bout.
  • Creed (2015): Directed by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), this masterful spin-off introduces us to Adonis Johnson, the illegitimate son of the late Apollo Creed. Determined to forge his own legacy, Adonis tracks down an older, reluctant Rocky Balboa to be his trainer. It’s a gripping underdog story that breathed phenomenal new life into the franchise and earned Stallone an Oscar nomination.

  • Creed II (2018): The stakes get incredibly personal in this sequel. Adonis, now the heavyweight champion and a new father, must face down his family’s darkest history. He steps into the ring against Viktor Drago, the ruthless son of Ivan Drago—the very man who killed Apollo Creed in the ring decades prior.
  • Creed III (2023): Making his directorial debut, Michael B. Jordan steps behind the camera for the first film in the franchise without Stallone’s Rocky. Here, Adonis is thriving in both his career and family life until a ghost from his past, childhood friend and former boxing prodigy Damian “Dame” Anderson (Jonathan Majors), is released from prison and wants everything Adonis has built.

At the time of publishing, it’s unclear whether the classic Rocky movies (Rocky I through V) will also be available on the service alongside these four titles. Their last appearance on Netflix US was back in late 2023. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the roster and will update you if the original classics are confirmed for June, too.

However, if you are looking for a dose of the Italian Stallion right now, don’t forget that Netflix is currently the exclusive home to Sly. The intimate, feature-length documentary series released last year offers a fantastic, retrospective look at Sylvester Stallone’s underdog life, his incredible career, and the unbelievable true story of how he willed the original Rocky into existence. It’s the perfect companion watch before diving into Rocky Balboa and the Creed trilogy!

The Latest Addition From Netflix’s MGM Deal

If you’re wondering how Netflix managed to score such a heavy-hitting franchise, it’s the latest fruit of a new licensing pact Netflix struck with MGM last December.

As you may recall, that landmark deal kicked off with a massive bang when the entire James Bond movie collection headed to Netflix. We’ve also seen Wrath of Man added, plus the animated The Addams Family movies added too.

But there is a catch, and it’s a big one: if you want to marathon these boxing hits, you’re going to need to do it quickly.

Much like the 007 films—which left Netflix already after a surprisingly short three-month window—we’re hearing that the Creed collection and Rocky Balboa will also only be licensed to stream for exactly three months. That means the clock will start ticking the moment they drop, and you’ll likely only have until September 1st before they leave the platform and head back to the MGM/Amazon vault.

Will you be checking out the Creed movies or Rocky Balboa when they hit Netflix US on June 1st? Let us know in the comments down below!
