Goodwill opens a new Calgary Price Drop Shop with discounts up to 60% off

12 May 20263 Mins Read

This one’s for all the Calgary thrifters out there. You might want to start clearing some space in your closet…

Goodwill Industries of Alberta just launched a brand-new shopping concept in the city called the Price Drop Shop, where the entire store is on a constantly changing discount system. Think full-store deals and prices that keep dropping the longer items sit on the shelves.

A new way to thrift in the city

According to the Goodwill Industries of Alberta, the new Price Drop Shop opened on Saturday, May 10, 2026, on Macleod Trail. If you’ve ever shopped at a thrift store hoping to find a ridiculous deal, this concept is basically designed for you.

Here’s the idea: Everything in the store starts at 30 per cent off. Then, instead of staying at the same price until someone buys it, items will keep dropping in price the longer they sit on the floor, up to 60 per cent off.

At the store, you can find a mix of clothing, home goods, decor, accessories, and a constantly rotating mix of thrift finds across every category. What’s on the racks can change quite quickly, so no two visits will really look the same.

The shop will take over the existing Macleod Trail location, so this isn’t technically a brand-new store in the city; it’s more of a full rebrand of a familiar one. And while this spot is changing direction, something much bigger is also happening in the background.

According to Goodwill Industries of Alberta, the company is preparing to open a much larger flagship location on Glenmore Trail, which will be Alberta’s largest Goodwill store.

But don’t worry, Goodwill’s mission will remain the same. Every purchase still supports programs that help connect Albertans with meaningful employment opportunities.

Overall, this new shop turns thrift shopping into a bit of a strategy game. Do you buy it now at 30 percent off, or gamble and wait to see if the price drops further? Either way, this new concept is bound to have Calgary shoppers checking back more often to see what’s changed, what’s cheaper, and what’s still sitting there waiting for a better deal.

When: Open Monday to Friday
Time: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 5707 Macleod Trl. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free
