Cavallo Point has appointed Richard Evanich as General Manager. He will oversee all hotel operations at the historic luxury resort at the end of the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito.
Evanich brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience, having held leadership roles at several four- and five-star properties. He previously served as Hotel Manager and General Manager for the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, where he hired a team of 300 and led the property to secure both AAA Five-Diamond and Five-Star awards within nine months of opening. He was also involved in pre-opening strategies for the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park and managed residential partnerships at Boston Common.
Following his tenure with Ritz-Carlton, Evanich was General Manager at the Irvine Company’s Fashion Island Hotel, where he managed a $3 million renovation. He later served as General Manager of the Waldorf Astoria Chicago, where the property achieved a #1 ranking on TripAdvisor. His experience also includes serving as a Luxury Task Force General Manager at Hilton Worldwide.
Most recently, Evanich was Area Managing Director for Noble House Hotels & Resorts, overseeing operations for the Napa Valley Wine Train and River Terrace Inn and reporting an 18% revenue increase. Before joining Cavallo Point, he was Senior Executive Director at Milestone Retirement Communities.
Born and raised in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Evanich will focus on hotel operations and employee engagement in his new role. He has expressed interest in engaging with the Bay Area community and supporting local charitable initiatives.
