Oktoberfest is coming to Calgary this September, with the Grey Eagle Event Centre transforming into a Bavarian-style celebration over two days. The space will be packed with live entertainment, dancing, games, and a stein-holding competition. And of course, it wouldn’t be a classic Oktoberfest celebration without beer, which will be flowing alongside all the dancing, music, and festivities.
With plenty planned across the two days, here’s what you can expect at Oktoberfest.

What is Oktoberfest?
Oktoberfest is a traditional Bavarian celebration that originated in 1810. What began as a royal wedding celebration grew into an annual festival centred around Bavarian culture, with beer halls, live music, dancing, traditional clothing, food, and games becoming some of its best-known traditions.
Today, Oktoberfest celebrations take place around the world, often recreating the atmosphere of the original Munich festival with long communal tables, steins of beer, and people dressed in dirndls and lederhosen.
What can I expect at Calgary’s Oktoberfest?
Calgary’s Traditional Oktoberfest Party is bringing those same traditions to the Grey Eagle Event Centre. Throughout the two-day festival, you can expect live music from the Brabec Brothers, classic Oktoberfest games, including a stein-holding competition.
What can I eat and drink while I’m there?
Food and beer will be a huge part of the celebration, with authentic German cuisine available throughout the event. The beer lineup will also include Hofbraü, with a complimentary one-litre stein included with admission.
Should I dress up?
Oktoberfest is known for its traditional clothing, so you’ll likely spot plenty of dirndls and lederhosen throughout the celebration. Dressing up is encouraged but not required, and anyone who does can enter the event’s dress-up contest for a chance to win a prize.
When is Oktoberfest happening?
The party will take place over two nights, Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026. Doors open at 5 p.m. both nights, and the celebration runs throughout the evening.
Where is the Oktoberfest taking place?
The Oktoberfest party will take place at the Grey Eagle Event Centre, where the space will be transformed into a festive space filled with long tables and plenty of room for dancing.
What should I know about parking and getting there?
Grey Eagle Resort and Casino is located in southwest Calgary, with the Event Centre on the resort property. Parking is available on-site, but organizers encourage attendees to take a taxi or rideshare when possible.
For those driving, the Event Centre upper overflow lot north of the hotel and the overflow lot south of the hotel are available, and parking attendants will direct guests to the appropriate area upon arrival.
The resort is also home to a hotel, so staying on-site is another option for anyone who doesn’t want to travel home after the celebration.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are $40 per person, plus applicable taxes and fees. You can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster, with separate listings for the Friday and Saturday celebrations.
The event is 18+, so you’ll need a valid government-issued ID to confirm your age at entry.
