If you use What’s on Netflix to keep tabs on new releases, we’ve got an update for you, you’re going to love: Flixable, our new Android app built to make Netflix discovery faster, cleaner, and more personalized, with an Apple version due out soon.
Flixable, now available on the Android app store, brings the core What’s on Netflix experience into a mobile-first format, so you can quickly see what just dropped, filter what matters, save titles for later, and stay on top of breaking Netflix news.
You may recall we did a massive refresh of our New on Netflix page on the website around a month ago, and part of the reason we did that was to prep for a mobile release rollout, which is now here.
Note: as with our New on Netflix hub page, this new app currently only covers United States additions. We’re planning a rollout to the UK later this year.
What is Flixable?
Flixable is a companion app for What’s on Netflix that helps you:
- Browse newly added Netflix titles in a daily feed
- Filter by type, language, genre, and curated category tags
- Save titles to a Watch Later list
- Read the latest Netflix news from What’s on Netflix
- Get optional daily or weekly reminders for new additions
Note: You may remember Flixable as a searchable Netflix tool that we acquired after the previous owner was unable to keep it going. We’re happy to be reviving it again!
Built for How People Actually Browse
Most people don’t open Netflix with a specific title in mind—they’re searching for something new that fits the mood. Flixable is designed to help you do that with an emphasis of finding something newly added.
You can quickly narrow down the feed with filters, then hit Apply to refresh results instantly. The filter menu is collapsible to keep the interface clean when you’re done.
Key Features
1) What’s New Feed (by date)
Flixable by default organizes new additions with clear daily headers, so you can quickly see what landed today versus earlier drops. We also give you the option for a simple list (with a popup with lots of additional information) or expanded cards that gives you everything about the new titles all at once.
2) Powerful Filtering
Refine the feed by:
- Movie or series
- Language
- Genre
- Special categories like Kids, Documentary, Anime, Stand-up, Podcast, and more
3) Watch Later
Found something interesting but not ready to press play? Save it and come back anytime.
4) Latest News Tab
Get Netflix coverage and updates from the What’s on Netflix editorial feed directly inside the app.
5) Optional Notifications
Choose your pace:
- Daily reminders
- Weekly recap
- Or no notifications at all
Why We Built It
What’s on Netflix has always focused on helping people discover what to watch next. Flixable extends that mission with a dedicated mobile experience where discovery feels immediate and practical—not cluttered.
This is version one, and we’re just getting started. We’ll keep improving Flixable with interface polish, smarter discovery tools, and additional quality-of-life updates based on your feedback.
An Apple version is nearly complete – just got a few more things to polish on that front, and we’ll be submitting to the App Store hopefully soon!
If you try the app, tell us what you want to see next by emailing me [email protected]—we’re building this for the same audience we write for every day.
Flixable is now available on Android.
